After endless layering in Photoshop, I’m finally sharing my first set of default baby skin replacements! This is a basic set of light, medium and dark skintones (sorry alien babies!) with a different outfit for boys and girls. I will also be releasing era-specific default replacements as I progress with the history challenge. Prehistoric babies are coming tomorrow hopefully!
I also decided to make my PSD file available to download, because there are so many variables (clothes, hair, accessories such as earrings and hair clips) - it’s impossible to include everything in one set and it’s so fun to customise your own babies! I’ve clearly labelled all layers, so it should be easy to edit and produce your own files.
Details - Default skin replacements
Choose between no hair or soft hair (use only one set at a time, so 6 files in total, one for each gender/skin colour).
Grey jersey trousers, blue socks and blue striped t-shirts for boys.
Grey jersey trousers, pink socks and pink striped t-shirts for girls.
Light skin: blue eyes, medium skin: hazel eyes, dark skin: brown eyes.

Easily adjustable skin tone colours (light, medium and dark).
Twenty-two hairstyle options (4 blonde, 3 ginger, 6 brown, 9 black).
Six eye colours (2 blue, 2 green, 2 brown), adjust the colour or blend them for even more options).
Customisable clothing (nappy, socks, soft trousers, jeans, long sleeved t-shirt, long sleeved babygrow).
Various accessories (hair band, bow, earrings, hair clips).

The preview pictures were minimally edited, to give an accurate in-game look.
It’s very easy to create new baby outfits by copying outfits from other default replacements (or even by using EA’s kids clothes textures) and pasting them into the PSD. The following baby skins use lovely clothes that can easily be copied onto this skin: Inabadromance’s defaults, Budgie2budgie’s defaults, Ely’s defaults, Faetale’s defaults and Bienchen’s defaults. Use Sims 4 Studio to extract kids clothes textures.
If you’d like to preview your own baby textures without having to go in-game, you can use this mesh (supplied by the lovely @inabadromance). Make sure you zoom all the way into the crib, the baby is hiding! Do not place this file in your Mods folder!
