RIP Anthony Stewart Head (1954 - 2026)
RIP Marjane Satrapi, author of the amazing graphic novels Persepolis about living during the fundamentalist revolution in Iran in the 70’s and 80’s. She also created the animated movie based on the graphic novels, which is where these gifs come from.

Reblogging in honor of Marjane Satrapi, one of THE great graphic novelists. Her comic Persepolis was a crucial text for shaping my belief that comics can deeply explore identity, culture, politics, and history.

I often wonder what happened to authors of unfinished fanfictions.
I hope they’re having a nice life
we absolutely are not and that unfinished fic haunts us to this day

New York City ballet production of Midsummer Nights Dream
The fact this isn't a painting is a testament to one of the greatest feats of set design and production I've ever seen.
My god just look at this! The lighting, set design, photography... I've just never seen anything like it.
This is from 1966 and you can see over a hundred photos on the NYPL digital collections website. It is absolutely gorgeous. These are just a few of my favourites.

The Fool animatic - 500 miles
So here is the animatic for the Fool that I have been working on and off for months! I wanted to do something special for him since he means the world to me <3
Quote used at the beginning is from Fool’s Quest chapter 32.
Quote used at the ending is from Fool’s Fate chapter 31.
Enjoyyy <3
Headcanon that The Cat is really good at (tenpin) bowling
Surprising that I can't think of any "The Boyz go bowling" fics. They must have done so. :)
The Cat takes two hours to be persuaded into the appropriate footwear, and then still refuses to actually step into the lane area until he has hand-painted and bedazzled his shoes.
Kryten's first turn is a strike, for which he apologises profusely.
Lister, who got drunk during the Cat shoe debacle, also gets a strike. Unfortunately, due to an overenthusiastic fling of the ball, it's in the next lane over and therefore disqualified.
Holly gets tired of Rimmer being incredibly fastidious about the state of his hologrammatic ball and pins and starts making up obstacles, leading to an argument about where water features don't belong at a bowling alley.
Vote for progressives. #DSA #ZohranMamdani
Democrats, are you taking notes? This is how you get shit done.
Sorry for us politics posting, but we have until May 22, 2026 to submit public comment to the FCC:
More info from GLAAD:
https://glaad.org/fcc/
They have some good tips about writing a comment and protecting your privacy which, fuck it, I'll just paste here:
Providing an email address is optional. If you have concerns about privacy, you may use your initials or public address in your local area, such as City Hall. Do not use a joke name. It diminishes the comment’s credibility.
Your submission does not need to be long. A single, well-reasoned paragraph is sufficient.
Do not copy/paste a template comment. The FCC values unique perspectives, and an original comment carries significantly more weight in the public record. You can explain why this matters to you without revealing private or sensitive personal information.
Here's what I said:
“Free speech is a fundamental American freedom. I do not need a warning about seeing queer people, much like I do not need a warning about women, veterans, or any other group of people.”
Here's the link to submit your comment by May 22:

I just googled this and… yes, it’s absolutely real.
And there are so many articles and videos and discussions. Like, the scientific community is buzzing about this.
So much research will have to be redone because the data was absolutely compromised, off by orders of magnitude, by using standard lab gloves.
The world is probably not horrifically contaminated by microplastics. Sterile laboratories, however, are contaminated by latex and nitrile gloves.
Thank God someone bothered to check.

Sources beyond dude just trust me, for the skeptics.
Scientists may have been unknowingly inflating microplastics pollution estimates, and the surprising source could be their own lab gloves. A
