WOOP WOOP GET SOME SOUP
Pretty effective, I want some soup now
headlines about Robert Pattinson will always be one of my favorite things.
(notice they are all from just the last year)
But this would be really good for a children's hospital
color theory at it's best. the children would love this.
People think this website is an invulnerable monstrosity with cockroach DNA, but if staff wanted to destroy it all theyâd need to do would be adding blue checkmarks
Personally I think it would be something different but equally obnoxious, like little blue âtâs next to profile pictures. Like thisÂ
Please stop torturing me
i think lots of americans have a hard time conceptualizing china as a place where people exist in because they donât really compare chinese things to american things, like
âthe chinese government vanishes you for saying the wrong thing!â the chinese government does indeed do things in a v extreme way, but even in america, there are lots of things you can say that will get you put on a list, that will get you investigated, visited by the secret service, maybe even arrested, etc. etc.
âchinese internet users are rabid and will harass anyone who speaks out against their countryâ that literally applies to americans too
âhow can chinese people let themselves suffer horrible working conditions for so little pay?â that can be asked of americans too, and the answer comes down to: because the government doesnât want to increase wages and shit
âhow are chinese people content to live under such a regime?â the same could be asked of americans, but we all know the answer to that, cause here in america, protests get violently suppressed and activists get assassinated
like, when you really start to looking at the similarities, it really becomes startlingly clear that even if things are different there, the reality is that the life of an average american has more similarities to the life of an average chinese than to the american elite
its kind of insane how many people in the notes respond to a post that says âyou should really be more sympathetic and consider chinese people humans instead of racist caricaturesâ with âno americans number one we have to get more racistâ because the idea that people outside of the american borders are humans too is just too threatening to american exceptionalism
no wonder why americans struggle so hard with the whole stop asian hate thing; they barely see us as humans
so im trying to decipher this chart on wikipedia that has common vampire weaknesses in it and
a âgreen/yesâ is a weakness, a âred/noâ is something that isnt a weakness, and a â?â is something that has never been addressed but fucking riddle me this

Smash that mf reblog button if you stoically ignore all labelled washing instructions and everything your mama ever told you about laundry and just send those bastards hurgling around in an overfilled tub to meet either death or glory
Something I learned from a costume designer: if an item can be washed multiple ways the designer is only legally obligated to put one of the ways on the tag, but if thereâs only one way to wash that item they have to put Only on the instructions
If the tag says âDry Cleanâ itâs safe to machine wash but the designer thinks it looks better if you get it dry cleanedÂ
But if it says âDry Clean Onlyâ you will destroy it if you wash it any other way
Reblogging for that last bit which this 37 yr old adult did not lnowy
anyway im stressed about my future and needed practice drawing hands, so.
a LOT of people are reblogging this as of late. yâall ok?
I think I can speak for all millenials when I say this:
No.
I think I can speak for all Gen Zenials when I say this:
No.
simple task: needs to be done
my brain, rotating slowly like a single uncooked burger patty in the microwave:
I dislike how clumsy it is to share Twitter threads but here is a portion from a guy I follow (for his trans porn and monster fucking content at that) echoing a sentiment that aces, traumatized people, people with low libido, etc. can fully relate to. The rest is here and it's absolutely worth the read.
Photo ID: A series of five screenshots of selected tweets by Johannes T. Evans from a thread.
First image text:Â it's literally completely okay to have sex because your partner wants it or enjoys it but you're not into it, like you don't have to ever have sex if you don't want to, but you also aren't obligated to enjoy or be into sex at all times. (next tweet)Â it's okay to have a wank not because you're feeling horny but because you have a headache, and it's okay to go down on your partner for the same reason, or have sex with them in the kind of "sure okay" way you'll watch a TV show that's not your thing for their sake.
Second image:Â sex isn't SPECIAL, is what I'm trying to say. it's not uniquely potentially traumatising or intimate, it doesn't have to always be pleasurable you can have sex you're not into or indulge a kink you don't care about for your partner and you aren't obligated to try to enjoy it. (next tweet) you don't have to orgasm if you can't be bothered or just aren't that into it. you don't have to try to enjoy sex if you just feel neutrally toward or don't care about it sex is just like anything else you do with someone - you can do it for whatever reasons YOU want
Third image:Â we all do things we're uncomfortable with sometimes, and we might look past that discomfort for our partners or friends and make a sacrifice - put cream on their weird rash, watch a horror movie that freaks us out a bit, indulge their costume kink we find silly, etc, all good! (next tweet)Â but the crucial thing about those sacrifices is that we do them in a way where we're giving informed consent without being under duress or coercion as soon as we do something we REALLY DON'T WANT TO bc we feel we can to otherwise? or are coerced/forced? That's a bigger issue
Fourth image:Â some fun facts: (list) - not everyone enjoys sex - not everyone likes orgasms - not everyone is attracted to people, including their partners - not everyone wants sex from sex - some people want intimacy and affection and closeness, and dgaf about sex (next tweet)Â some people, especially cis people and allosexuals, have been commenting on this like "I'm uncomfortable when we are no about me!???" The point of this post is that it ISN'T about you. if you don't relate to it, that's okay.
Fifth image:Â this thread is not saying everyone should have boring sex they don't care about. The point of this post is that for SOME PEOPLE, sex is ALWAYS boring or uninteresting or distantly gross or a chore... but we have motivations to have it beyond sex drive, and that's okay (next tweet)Â we are not bad, we are not weird, we are not obligated to feign or perform exaggerated enjoyment or fake orgasms or pretend we're like people that DO have a higher libido but we're often made to feel that way. look at how many replies and QRTs are expressing relief and agreement

âI wanted to show you all a Halloween joke and I canât stop laughing at this one.â - Probability professor
I think it's actually cool and great not to have any especially specific descriptors for your gender and/or orientation. just do whatever you want. yeehaw.
the way people talk about gender and orientation often has an implied understanding that through enough introspection/reading/fucking around and finding out you'll eventually arrive at the True Answer but actually that's uh. listen it's not gonna be the experience everyone has and that's fine, especially since the language we currently have to explain gender and attraction are pretty recent and relatively limited (as all language is!) and it's like. it's fine not to jive with that. you don't have to find a box you fit in perfectly and you also don't have to build a new box for yourself, you can just exist in whatever way feels right to you.
This is Sarah Grimké.
She was born to a rich plantation family in the American South during the time of slavery. She owned a slave, Hetty, a girl her parents gave her when she was a child. She was absolutely the sort of person whose racism you could justify as being âof her timeâ and âjust the way she was raisedâ.
And she cited the injustices she saw growing up on the plantation as the motivation for her becoming an abolitionist as an adult.
When she was a kid, she tried to give bible lessons to the slaves on her Dadâs plantation, and taught her own slave to read and write. As an adult, she and her sister campaigned for the end of slavery. When she found out that one of her brothers had raped one of his own slaves and gotten her pregnant three times, she welcomed her nephews into the family and paid for education for the two that wanted it.
This was a woman who was raised in a culture of slavery, looked around her as a child and said âhey, wait a minute, weâre all assholes!â and spent the rest of her life trying to put things right.
It absolutely was a choice.
This is something Iâve been forced to learn in the past two years. The world around me is turning into something I was raised to believe could only happen in history books, or maybe in other parts of the world that sort of belonged in history books.
The more I see this happeningâand the more I learn about the past and how hard people did fight to stop Hitler from initially rising to power, or to point out the humanity of slavesâthe more apparent it becomes that we have always had these choices, and theyâve always been the same.
And weâre always going to have genuinely appealing opportunities to make the worst possible choices again, no matter how much more modern the world appears.
George Washington owned slaves right? Most of the founding fathers did, and in grade school, to smooth over that abuse of humanity by an American hero, we as children were told âYes, George Washington did own slaves but he freed them when he died.â And you infer that he didnât like slavery but it was an economic necessity.
And then youâre in your mid twenties watching a food show on Netflix and you learn that because Pennsylvania was a Quaker colony, they led the nation in emancipation and if an enslaved person was in Philadelphia for more than six months, they automatically became freed. And the young nationâs early capital was in Philadelphia, where Washington brought his household of enslaved people with him. And he took them back to Virginia every five months for a time so as to start that clock over and keep them enslaved.
Thereâs a trend with historians to want so badly to maintain the prestige of George Washington and an exceptional and morally pristine figure. And true, there are many instances in his writing where he sounds like his opinion on slavery as an institution is turning and that he knew slavery was wrong. But his actions. He literally had to do absolutely nothing to free his household staff, and took great pains to keep them enslaved.
Itâs important to remember that too. That there were people in positions of enormous power, who know what theyâre doing is wrong, and choose to do it anyway.
Do not let anyone tell you his teeth were made of wood.
