anyway last post before I leave this blog for good -- if you're considering joining the exmormon discord server run by exmormonrants, I would reconsider. A member revealed that they dated a sixteen year old when they were nineteen, which is pedophilia, and when I called them out on it, the mods took their side and they refused to admit that what they did was wrong :)

I messaged exmormonrants, who admins the server, on my main about it three weeks ago when the situation occured, and she has yet to reply while remaining active on Tumblr.

I would think long and hard before joining this server about whether you want to join a server that both has a pedophile as a member and pedophilia apologists as mods. I'm putting this in the exmormon tag because the exmormon community, especially minors, deserve to have this knowledge to keep themselves safe when navigating online communities. Stay safe and don't join that discord for gods sake.

I don't have extensive screenshots from the beginning of the situation, as I left the discord directly after the situation occured, however i have screenshots both of a mod stepping in and taking their side and Imphie (the pedophile's) refusal to actually see their actions as wrong. These screenshots were taken by an irl friend who left the server shortly after I did. They asked to remain nameless.

1. The top part that got partially cut off is what i sent before leaving the server. The cut off line reads "[you dated them when you were NINE] FUCKING TEEN which means you were an ADULT" Imphie is the pedophile, timaeusTestified is a mod

Hey to all my followers -- sorry I've been so inactive on this account. Things have transpired and I no longer feel safe or welcomed in the exmormon Tumblr community. As such, this account is going on an indefinite hiatus. This isn't any one incidents fault, but mainly a lot of little incidents that all added together to make running this blog more of a burden on my life than what it was originally supposed to be, which is an outlet to let out my frustrations with the Mormon church.

honestly this is something I've noticed in the exmormon/exchristian community and I'm not saying that people who do this are terrible people, but you all need to understand that just because someone makes a semipersonal/even a memeish post about Mormonism and tags it in the exmormon tag, it does not give you permission to share your trauma with that person in the notes of their post.

especially if they didn't explicitly say it's okay.

especially if you're an adult and they're a minor.

especially if you don't know the op.

especially if it contains triggering content outside of generalized religious trauma.

you shouldn't put your personal trauma in the notes of a random post, I know trauma fucking sucks, I have it too, and it helps to talk about it with others who share our experiences, but doing so violates the boundaries of the original poster more often than not and could cause them to be triggered by the content in your sharing.

be more aware of appropriate boundaries and recognize that we're all hurting, and while we should discuss and share our shared and differing experiences in the cults that raised us, that doesn't give you permission to add your personal story about trauma, especially if it has triggering content, with random people on the internet who didn't express that they are comfortable with hearing it at that moment.
