Hmmm 🤔🧐...
Practicing Shadows and things Day 1 , it was kinda fun. I want to refine things next time but this was low pressure. I think I need low pressure and to just wing it lol. The sketch is horrible lol, his face is longer than the reference, but I was trying to focus on painting and seeing what I understood.
butch is an extremely diverse identity that intersects lesbianism and strives for a masculinity that is not rooted in the patriarchy. butch is a gender identity that means many things to many different people, not just cis white lesbians. that includes studs, butches on t, butches who are trans, butches who transitioned, butches who use he/him, butches who have a weird gender, boydykes, lesboys, and especially butches of the working class. if you don't support them then you don't actually support butches.
y’all never hype studs the way you do butches on here and it pisses me tf off
Black History Month Day 20: Double Dutch (from PBS by David Hoffman https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0006MXD7O/)
This is still so magical to me.
i want to be loved confidently and fearlessly. i want to be shown off and loved proudly. i want to be someones first choice and not be used to get over an ex who they go back to after leaving me. i want to be adored and admired. i want to be taken out on dates. i want to be pursued and chased and confessed to. i want to be complimented. i want to be courted. i want hand written letters. i want passionate words and gestures. i want loving actions. i want to be taken care of. i want to be loved naturally and not like its a chore. i want to be someones person. i want to be loved equally and not feel like all my love and passion was a waste. i want to feel worthy of love and not have to beg for it.
you using sex to sell a mobile game, but I don't see any Black characters so my dick ain't even considering it
yeah yeah, you got huge titty elves; are there any non-evil characters with skin darker than paper? Can I make a character that looks like a Black person? Nah? Then why are you wasting our time here on Earth?
If their skins all fair, then I don’t care.
If they’re all pale, imma bail
None of them are Black? That’s wack
Severe lack of melanin? That’s a game I’m not getting in
No characters that are brown? Gives me a big frown ☹️
Ooooh, that’s good
If nobody is darker than mayo, then this isn’t worth my wallet going K’O!
They all look aryan, well I ain’t payin’ then!
No characters of color, I’m not spending a dollar
Their face doesn’t look like mine, they ain’t getting a dime
your characters all pasty, i don't find that tasty
They’re all just one hue? That’ll never do
If they’re all European that aint a world I wanna be in
If none of them are from Africa I gotta laugh at ya
No skin that’s tan? Not a fan
No Black characters in the action? That doesn’t lead to satisfaction
I love your energy but we are doing rhymes. You need to make a rhyme with that
"If I can't be black I will peel your skin back" easily fixed
Your hair selection got no Afros? Man, imma go
If there’s no niggas abound, then I ain’t gonna be around!
Keith David ain’t doing a voice? No reason for me to rejoice.
Their skin is gray? Guess I won't play!
Nor will I pay- Not today!
In me discovering my voice and the ability to take up space I'm learning to complain more. Idk if that is a good thing or a bad thing. It's like flexing an atrophied muscle the more you do it, the easier it gets, the easier it gets the less you give a fuck about consequences.
I'm trying to find a balance now in vocalizing a discomfort without taking away from the joy and fun of something. I think that also comes with the people I surround myself with. If I surround myself with people who view anything as a complaint then I'm not making wise decisions about my well being am I?
“I hope that someday, somebody wants to hold you for twenty minutes straight, and that’s all they do. They don’t pull away. They don’t look at your face. They don’t try to kiss you. All they do is wrap you up in their arms, without an ounce of selfishness in it.”

feeling this old mitski tweet so hard lately
Earlier this month, Nyamakop unveiled Relooted, a new video game where players stages heists to take back stolen artifacts from Western muse
Have you ever imagined yourself, on a visit to a major museum, busting through a wall, arms full of ill-begotten African artifacts and ready to return them to their rightful homes? No? Well, you may soon have the chance, thanks to South African video game studio Nyamakop. Earlier this month at the annual Summer Game Fest in Los Angeles, Nyamakop unveiled its latest project, Relooted, a side-scrolling puzzle platformer—think early Tomb Raider or Prince of Persia games—where players join a crew of Robin Hood-esque thieves staging elaborate heists to take back stolen artifacts from Western museums, and repatriate them to the peoples from whom they were taken. As Nyamakop lays out on the game’s listing on the online video game marketplace Epic Games, Relooted takes place in a near future where “the political powers that be brokered a Transatlantic Returns Treaty, promising the repatriation of African artifacts from museums.” But the hitch in the treaty is that it only applies to artifacts on “public display,” leading museums to circumvent the requirement by placing the pieces in highly guarded private collections. And that’s where players come in: scoping out a given facility, carefully constructing an exit route, and then, of course, stealing the artifact and escaping. As Ben Myres, the creative director of the game, explained to Epic in a news post, all of the artifacts in Relooted are based on real-world pieces in Western museums. In crafting the various missions, the developer team spent two years of research narrowing done the list of which pieces, of the hundreds still held by Western museums, into something manageable.
@isuggestlandback seems like a hot topic though fictional but probably up your alley
CAME OUT YESTERDAY!!
If this season feels heavier, I hope you give yourself permission to move gently. 🐾🤍
Reading lesbian and sapphic literature is sometimes so alienating because honestly speaking, 96% of the essays and memoirs I found, as well as queer theory, do not even consider the possibility of butch4butch, or worse, just mention it as a cursory afterthought (I think maybe the "Faggot Butch" essay in S. Bear Bergman's Butch is a Noun, 2006, is the closest that comes to speaking of the erasure of butch4butch):
Most of the so-called sapphic classics are either butch femme or femme4femme. Same with Japanese yuri and Korean manwha–God, I have lots to say about the lack of butch representation in modern GL, except for like maybe one or two stories, some of which are fetishizing representations. Definitely no butch4butch anywhere. Its either butches as animalistic savage masculinized women of color, or butches as predatory older women. And that's to not even speak of contemporary western romance and publishing.
Pictured here: My Date is a Total Ike Woman (manga) by natuo mutsumi, Asahi to Satsuki (manga) by fujita, The Girl I hated (manwha) by Ownte, Renai Idenshi xx (manga) by Taishi Zaou
It's just unfair of me, I know, but I zone out so badly whenever a queer theorist discusses butchness and butch identity exclusively in tandem with our relationship to femmes. I do think that butch-femme history is intertwined, inextricably so, and I love my femme comrades, sisters, and lovers, but damn, I don't think butches should be defined by our attraction to femmes, or even our need for femmes as some sort of essential step to self fulfilment. A lot of us are attracted to other butches. Sometimes exclusively, sometimes not.
And also, has anybody noticed that butch4butch stories in publishing are almost always short form online content, maybe oneshot stories, or a novella, or an afterthought addition to a collection? It's either that or a story will be exclusively based in some sort of "lesbian-normative universe" with fifty sapphic characters, and yet, all twenty five butches will be neatly stacked up like forks and spoons with twenty five femmes, with an alternative not even considered; all the butch relationships will be just platonic bros. I have been struggling to maintain the butch4butch database with almost no new stories out.
I don't know, I guess I'm just irritated, sad and unmotivated. As it were, I'm not white and don't live in the West, so butch4butch isn't even a thing I have gotten to experience in my home country and our queer literature, what little there is of it. If you have butch4butch stories and OCs please always tag me. I'll make sure to give them a shoutout.

It is patient
It is playful
