My dear, has nobody told you bribery works quiet poorly? It would have been far more effective for you to ask for me to buy you a Red Sox cap than demand a straight bribe.
Nobody has really taught me about bribes. But you seem to know a lot about them as a politician, so you could teach me. Plus, it wasn’t so much of a bribe, but a service fee. If you’d like to reject that fee, I can go to plan b.

If it hadn’t been for just how reckless the act of breaking into the Sullivan’s home was, Nor wouldn’t have even entertained the thought that the person in front of her really was just a lost girl scout. It wasn’t exactly a secret that Billy Sullivan had been thorough in ensuring the place he’d raised his children was secure, so generally thieves and those hoping to spy on the family stayed away from the estate, or at the very least come with more preparation. All that said, Nor was honestly more shocked then angered by the act.
“Mm, this is an odd place to look for a front door don’t you think?” she said, only thinly masking her irritation, “I mean, last I checked ‘front door’ meant it was in the front.”
The fact that she had been unfortunate enough to get caught by Nor instead of Rory. She always sensed Nor was the keener one of the two. Well, girls always were, in Blake’s honest opinion. It’d be harder to play innocent with her, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t going to try to. She glanced down at the ground as she spoke, fixing her sash and shifting her feet on the ground.
“Some people’s houses have front doors in weird places,” they replied with a shrug, looking up with their best impression of a scared little kid. “I really didn’t wanna cause any trouble, Miss...?”

Blake was aware that it was a dangerous idea to even be near the Sullivan’s house looking suspicious. It definitely wasn’t safe to be right outside it, whether they appeared suspicious or not. It was why they had a plan, and why they were wearing a girl scout badge. They had bought it on sale the day after Halloween, having a feeling they’d need it one day. That day was today.
She was at the right side of the house, staring at a fence that was too tall to climb. It had a pickable lock, at least. With her makeshift lockpick kit, she began working at it. Then, she heard footsteps right behind her and whipped around. She knew quickly that it was one of the infamous twins of Southie, Nor, to be exact. “Hi there, miss,” she greeted with her nicest sounding voice. “I got a bit lost trying to find your door.”

It’s not that illegal. Besides, if you hear someone coming, you just act confused like you are right now, like you didn’t realize you weren’t supposed to be there.
His name’s Dylan. Curly-ish hair. Early 20s. Works as a stripper.

If you were looking for money from me then you’re out of luck because I can barely feed myself. I’m a janitor, for God’s sakes.
Mm, forgot about that term. Kinda puts me in a tight spot. Could always ask that other guy, but he wouldn’t be too eager to do this either...Wait, you’re a janitor? Where do you clean? I mean, it doesn’t really matter, you could go in with the uniform, and shit, and then sneak into the police’s records room! They gotta have some information on contract killers.

Blake shrugged. “I can handle myself, don’t worry,” they replied. “I have seen my fair share. But someone’s gotta get the answers, if the people who are supposed to as a job won’t.”

Well, they do after you kill the person. The money upfront isn’t that much. It’s just a deposit. So we find some low level guy, then climb up the ladder.

Blake gave her a polite smile, before flipping open her notebook. “Any people come by who do work like the Donnelley’s? Or anyone talking about someone who does that kind of work?”

I dunno, adults can do a lot. Most of them choose not to. There’s like a dozen datelines I’ve seen where people hire hitmen, can’t be that hard.
You know they record all of the conversations at the jail, right? It’d look bad on anyone if they asked about it there. I don’t think it’d be safe for you to seek out a hit-man, but… if you have to, it’d be safer to do it on the outside.
Oh...I mean, I knew that. What do you take me for? So you’ll help me seek out a hit-man, then?
“Or… or, I could just get up and leave.” Cecile said, standing up.
“Wait!” Blake tried a wide, puppy dog eyes kind of look. “I won’t bother you again the entire night, if you tell me. I promise. Cross my heart.”
I don’t know, do I? And yeah, we’re definitely hitting these jerk cops that like to give my dad a hard time… and some of the popular girls’ houses. We’re gonna be busy, but I’ll bring my bike along so we can do a hit and run on some of these places.
Sometimes I wonder why we hang out. Now you got me listening, I’d love going after them. And that sounds fun to ruffle some of those prissy girls’ feathers. You actually think you can hold me on the backseat of your bike? I better not be falling off or anything.
Jesus… why do you need to get in contact with someone like that?
I need to know other people who do what he does. Find out if he knows anything about...
About two people who were killed. Seemed like a professional hit. And if I can find out who did it, then I can find the person who hired them.
