The boarding school girl fantasy

Despite being an obvious party girl my middle child complex has convinced me I need to be good at school in order to get attention from my parents so I always craved academic validation in relation to parents validation. That explains why I choose to attend a school I’m blatantly not smart enough to attend other than classmates that make me question my self worth every single day. So to keep my status as the smart one along to the bpd babe title I have to keep getting semi good grades next to some smart politics talking and latin proverbs at dinner. I’ve been learning about greek mythology and reading relatively long books for a 10 yo while being praised for it at the point that my favorite readings in years have been 90s books discussing the dangers of heroin use. The boarding school girl fantasy. The Rory Gilmore dream. Aka the constant fear of disappointing my elementary school teacher that told my parents I could write well.

Now I procrastinate my study sessions alternating between not opening a single book for weeks and pulling all nighters before tests giving myself black coffee diarrhea. The gifted child burnout. I ruined my walls writing down the number of the pages I have to study for the tests and sticking them on my desk front wall with paper tape highlighting the number of every page when I’m done studying it. I make little useless annotations at the side of every paragraph even when it’s something that’s already told in the book. I write almost exclusively in 2B pencil and categorically refuse to use my rubber. The chaotic academia facade. I study in my bed pretending to be Blair Waldorf struggling to get into Yale giving myself backache and watching some carefully chosen YouTube channels about philosophical issues. I keep all my pencils in an improper pen holder on my desk for aesthetic purposes. The overachiever pipeline.

why does nobody talk about the fact that carter and sadie got seperated when they were just kids. just imagine a six year old sadie and eight year old carter hugging for the last time, crying in eachothers embrace, bc they couldn’t see eachother often, they couldn’t wake up every morning and see their sibling there waiting to spend another day with them, they couldn’t play with eachother or even tease eachother. they were raised differently, had completely different living conditions and knew almost nothing about eachother. and the saddest part is that they could have been together if it weren’t for their racist af grandparents who wanted sadie and not carter just because he had darker skin then her even though sadie and carter are both mixed.
