That's right, this whole time I've been on HRT for the distracting and alluring cleavage which serves to alleviate so much otherwise awkward social interactions.

Do you write fanfiction? Do you write fanfiction with characters on the aromantic and asexual spectrums? Are you 18 or older?

If you said yes to all three questions, please participate in this survey about aromanticism and asexuality in fanfiction writing for a master’s thesis project at the University of Texas at Austin.

The purpose of this survey is to better understand how fanfiction writers of aromantic/asexual fanfiction engage with canon and how their own identities play into the stories they create. Aromantic/asexual fanfiction has a space with fanfiction, and the writers of this fanfiction should have their voices heard and projected to other fans for us all to have a better understand each other.

You DO NOT have to be on the aromantic or asexual spectrums yourself. You just have to have written fanfiction with characters on those spectrums. And your fanfiction does not have to be published or posted anywhere. Even if your fic has never let your notes app or google doc, you are still able to respond to this survey.

This survey will take you around ten minutes. There is also an option to continue your participation with an interview. Responses will be collected until November 20th.

If I remember correctly it eventually got out.

Apparently this was a rehearsal for the scene, so the extinguisher was a prop one (hence the moment Miranda sassy looks at the camera/crew for how he was acting her in panic), so they went on to it.

But someone had switched the extinguisher to the actual fire thrower that would be used on the scene (I dont remember if was proposital or not or simply a mistake because they were meant to be identical).

So this is their actual reaction, cause when he pressed the valve, he really wasnt expecting to fire come out, neither was Miranda, so their reaction is 100% genuine and they did freak out as on tape.

The thing went out so well they were unable to reenact their reactions or surprise as the first time on rehearsal, so the rehearsal scene was kept and put it into the actual episode.

Let's talk about Boromir

He was deeply human. Not immortal like Legolas. Not immune to the allure of the ring like Gimli. He doesn't possess Gandalf's wisdom or the innocence of Merry and Pippin. He had a Sam-like loyalty in him, but he didn't grow up with a Frodo to be loyal to in his formative years, and so he learned to be loyal to himself. Nobody handed him a quest, a divine task to fulfill like Frodo. He didn't know the love of a good dad. His honor was never hailed like Aragorn's. If he displayed goodness and kindness in his childhood, it was never praised, only disparaged as a weakness. His father valued him, yes, but never as a person or a son, only as a trophy, a marker of success. He made real mistakes, succumbed to the draw of the ring.

Even so, he came to love and care for the hobbits with the kind of love he needed so deeply and never got from Denethor. He came to love Aragorn as a brother even though he would never be as widely beloved and his heroism never as widely known. He recognized his mistake, and he lamented it. And when the moment came at which it most counted, he sacrificed all of himself to protect the hobbits, to fulfill his duty and right his mistake, but most of all because he loved them. And they loved him too, enough to hurl themselves at the orcs even though they were hobbits of The Shire.

Boromir was defined not by his swipe for the ring's power, but by this love and heroism. And in his dying moments, Aragorn made sure that Boromir knew that his honor was as true as that of Aragorn himself.

Casual reminder that many landscapes in US national parks are the result of centuries of land management by indigenous people and the Parks system has interfered with indigenous management practices and led to some degredation of the ecosystems

Not so casual reminder that a great many of those parks were Indigenous homes. Not just managed, not just cared for.

Not so casual reminder that the oft quoted grandfather of the National Park System Theodore Roosevelt was an unabashed racist who took 86 million acres of Indigenous Tribal land to expand the National parks.

Not so casual reminder that conflating lack of human life to lack of human interference is hugely problematic and completely disregards the eugenics hidden within most ecofascist ideology.
