I find it adorable how in SNW it's apparent that spock gets invited to girls' night out frequently, and he just sits there with them at the bar with his glass of luke warm water listening to them tell stories he absolutely doesn't understand, but he seems to enjoy being there nonetheless.

And it is also like a cute little continuety thing with TOS that tells us why he's so comfortable and friendly with Uhura, playing the lyre as she sings and allowing her to flirt with him in a friendly way.

It bothers me how little respect Hoshi gets. She's literally out there doing what is pure magic and people are like "she only has one defining feature ANXIETY she sucks"

no you don't get how much I love that he's such a great dad. in the little dietails like this or in scenes like last episode's discussion of religion where sisko was like 'you have to respect everyone and let them believe in what they want' and jake immediately accepted that as true. they disagree because hes a teen and shit but he trusts his dad so much :(( also the way sisko's whole demeanor changes when talking to his son vs doing starfleet commander stuff (even talking to kira in the very next scene) :((((

I think it's silly that the star trek future is still so same-with-same when it comes to alien species. I think a Klingon vessel should comm the enterprise and a random Human ensign should go "Oh my god wait are you from the House of Ragh-Tul? No way! That's my cousin's house!" because they recognize the dialect. Like, we're all neighbors in the universe. That Vulcan is your primary school teacher's daughter. You're an Andorian but you have a Betazoid name because your dad thought it sounded pretty. This random alien knows how to make kimchi without ever having seen a Human because the recipe was part of a trade made decades ago. C'mon man, love thy neighbor with your whole heart!
