#every time I see this picture I am briefly overwhelmed#this piece of art outlived its context and milieu#but. but. in reality there is no such thing#because art is made anew with every glance. it comes to life. awakens laughing#and time compresses. softens. the past is not so much a mystery if we remember we weren’t the first to dance.#this is what art is for#this is what it can do#it doesn’t only speak to us of our own humanity#it reminds us that humanity is shared. this girl isn’t dancing in a mirror. she is dancing with a friend.#paintings don’t simply show us the world. they help teach us how to live in it. Knives out and Glass Onion work bc it brings the role of mystery solving detective out of brooding tortured genius and back to its rightful place as Friendly Weirdo In a Little Outfit
so I watched the new babygirl detective movie
touch starved not in a craving human contact way but in a daydreaming about napping under a dragon's wing way
when i say i want to be held i'm talking about this
a very quick poem i just wrote, made from excerpts of texts my mum has sent me this year.
HELLO???
On a lighter + adjacent note i love dis tweet + these QRTs of it ^_^... literally...
I love abusing the fuck out of the English language. I’ll just make a word up. Fuck it. Shakespeare did it too.
I’m going to string together a sentence that is so grammatically incorrect. Big fan of the “if you can understand what I meant, shut up about the way I said it” mentality. And I’m a writer.
You see a medieval manuscript where they spelled “chickens” 12 different ways and you just know this language is meant to be used and abused.

DAY TWENTY-SIX: BAD WEATHER
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia 15x08 "The Gang Carries a Corpse Up a Mountain" (2021)
Nothing could have prepared me to learn this is from It's Always Sunny and not some drama film
i was in a thrift shop the other day and they were playing the most unsettling variations of normal christmas music, culminating in this rendition of the 12 days of christmas except it was like 12 guys all singing over each other and going “no!” and interrupting the lyrics with random other phrases until they deadass just started singing 5 golden rings to toto’s africa. can anyone confirm that this is a real song and not that i stroked so hard i astral projected into a universe where everything is somehow worse than it is here

I remember listening to this in grade school. I am going to go get some Chinese food.
this is what my anxiety attacks sound like
Oh I needed this laugh this evening. Thank you so much.
In case anyone didn’t want to leave Tumblr and just hit “play”
When someone tells me “look at me so I know you’re listening” this turns on inside my head
Whenever I see an Ivan Aivazovski painting the sea monster in me goes absolutely feral
I see this and I've never wanted to sink a ship so much in my life I'm biting through wood as we speak
God if I saw this in person I'd straight up start slithering. Start writhing
The way he just *clenches fist* makes water light up from the inside. Ugh, I once zoned out in front of one of his larger paintings in a gallery and came to, like, twenty minutes later, smelling saltwater and tasting driftwood.
This is his largest painting ever. It is 2,8×4,2 meters large. That is about 9'3"×14'1". It took him ten days to paint. This is a guy who painted normal-sized paintings in an hour, two, tops, according to contemporaries.
He was utterly unique.
*inner sea monster awakening noises*

“Run into a cave and break your ankle so that people have to come find you and they see you lying at the bottom of this beautiful cave and maybe there’s a waterfall and the light from the crystals makes you look really beautiful and they say “Are you okay?” and you say “I think so” and they say “oh my God have you been here alone this whole time with a broken ankle” and you say “it’s okay” and they say “you’re so brave” and you are brave and you look so beautiful surrounded by cave crystals and everyone stands over you and says “oh wow” and “you poor beautiful thing” and “I’m so sorry we let you run into the cave but I’m so glad we found you” and let them carry you home and promise to be your best friends forever and that everything’s their fault and also they named the cave after you and you’re prettier than all of your enemies and your enemies all died of jealousy while you were in the cave.”

this bitch gets it
When you become 20 something, you have to forgive yourself or you will never grow up. You have to forgive yourself for everything and learn from it.
Was looking for a book today when I saw these various animal books all on the same shelf and noticed their titles made a nice little impromptu poem about veterinary medicine
Nobody has mentioned this but I am so glad you did! I’ve never heard of spine poetry and I love the concept. I found these titles at a used bookstore that stacks books pretty freely so I will most definitely be scanning the spines for poetry every time I go
