RALSEI IS THE ROOTS. MAYBE A CRACK THEORY
Okay so. Throughout chapter 5 we have gotten more hints towards the idea that Ralsei might not be a darkner. Or at least not one in the traditional sense. Im mostly talking about this line right here
While this line can be interpreted in a variety of ways, I think "Ralsei isnt a darkner" is definitely one of them. Together with Flowery describing Ralsei as "The impossibility himself" which i mean. Does make sense! Ralsei doesnt seem to be a regular object at all and isnt confined to one singular spot and Kris and Susie dont have to drag Ralsei around for Ralsei to travel to different Dark worlds like they have to with Rouxls or Lancer
By all means Ralsei is weird in that regard
But if not a Darkner then what is Ralsei? And thats how i present to you the humble idea of: Ralsei is a root system
Ralsei is a fucking plant
Like flowery said plants are neither lightners nor darkers. They are living beings that take on a new consciousness in the dark that can feel things others cant understand
...does that remind you of someone too? Am I the only one who thinks about Ralsei when hearing those words? You know? The concept of plant darkners just presented to us? That might be used more than once?
Anyways but how did i get the idea of Ralsei specifically being a Root system?
Ralseis title this chapter was "Artemisia"
I dont know much about plants and stuff so please correct me if i understood something wrong but
The Artemisia is a healing plant that has something funny about itself
It doesnt usually spread through seeds. It spreads through broken off roots from which a new plant is formed and as many as 20 new stems can form from a single Root system
And do you know what was build up to be important in deltarune? Roots!
What if Ralsei is a root system or part of a larger root system thats going through hometown.
What if thats how Ralsei shows up in every dark world, Knows how the light world looks like and is aware of so many things
What if all that is because Ralsei is a root system thats literally going throughout all of it and can therefore see it
Now I admit it would be kinda weird for Roots to show up in the dark world considering those are usually in the ground and the ground is separated from the dark worlds via concrete or whatever seperates the dirt from the floor but you also stab into the earth to create a dark fountain so like.....
It doesnt really answer all the questions surrounding Ralsei (like the asriel connection for example) but! I thought the idea was fun and i thought it would be kinda fun to get this idea out aswell
Idk maybe Ralsei is mold and everyone in hometown has really moldy floors
But thats just a theory that was written in the span of like 10 minutes by me whos usually not very good at theories
