Phm question: would grace’s burn be healed (the big one from the book) by the time he saves Rocky after the taumoeba get out of the tanks and he turns back from his way to earth? I have a fanfic idea (which I’m dying to infodump about) but it hinges upon grace getting some kind of infection after he goes back to save Rocky after they part ways 😭 I could make it work regardless but burn scar infection would be angstiest

Seems as though consensus is that it would have healed by then which is okay. My idea is this:

after Grace comes back to save Rocky, Rocky deals with some severe paranoia/anxiety about the taumoeba getting out of the tanks and into the ship/fuel. He’s really crashing out, making Grace do constant decons and wipe tests and such. He can’t calm himself down when he panics, either, and becomes reliant on Grace to regulate him, which makes Grace constantly freaked out about whether Rocky is okay. At the same time I was thinking that Grace could be dealing with an infection of some sort which he would maybe hide from Rocky bc he’s afraid it would be too upsetting and triggering and all he has to do is take antibiotics for a week or so and he’ll be fine so it’s not worth bringing up anyway. I guess I’ll have to give him some kind of injury in the process of saving Rocky?

What do we think? I love Rocky angst so bad
