Kindness is often mistaken for softness and let me tell you, friends….that is a mistake you don’t want to make.
Kind people are not born that way, they do not stumble into it, kind people are forged in fire and darkness and imploding stars…they have steel cores. Throw a punch and you’re going to break your hand.
Kind people are kind because they know firsthand that life isn’t.
I was just talking to someone about this. Kindness isn’t a natural-born trait, it’s a daily choice, so when you call someone kind you’re not praising their personality, you’re praising their effort.

This is SO fucking on point. I’ve been criticized before for being “too nice/kind” as my kindness has often been mistaken for weakness. Fuck that.
I’ve always chosen to follow ‘The Golden Rule’. As a kid, it just made sense.
Kindness and hatred are two sides of the same coin. They are traits inside everyone. We choose which to forge our thoughts and actions. This is what goes into building your character and who you are as a person.
Technically, kindness and hatred are not taught but whether or not an action is considered good or bad is. We need to teach the next generation(s) that an act of kindness is better than an act of hatred.

So it’s not quite snowing on Churyumov–Gerasimenko, unfortunately; the white specks are artifacts of cosmic rays impinging on the CCDs in the camera, as well as a rotating starfield in the background (since the comet is spinning). A few specks could be dust. But, holy shit, that’s the surface of a comet. That’s a spot you could in theory cling to for dear life sit down on. The Cliffs of Comet 76p are a place.
If that isn’t the neatest shit I don’t know what is.

This is actually a cool thing I know about!
In the wild capybaras live in large groups so naturally a female capybara will take care of not only her own offspring, but all of the other offspring in the group. So capybaras are super great mothers who will adopt pretty much anything and take care of it.
Lots of places that rescue different animals will give a group of baby animals to a capybara to raise if they have one.

They are just super calm animals so they’re naturally great at mothering or just existing in a group!

Elle is actually one of my ride or dies. We became friends about 8 or 9 years ago on this here blue website, and I love her so fucking much.
Their story is sweet, but unfortunately, they’re going through some hard times. Elle’s endometriosis is super bad, and she’s neck deep in medical bills, on top of being unable to work due to the disease. This is making it really hard for them to keep up with other bills, as she can’t supplement their household income.
She’s had a GoFundMe up for a long time now, but it still has a long way to go. They really do need the help so they can live their cute ass lives!!
If you can boost this and maybe consider donating (instead of that Kylie bullshit), it would be incredible. I’m posting this on her behalf since she doesn’t use Tumblr anymore.
