Wondering why this video I shared of a white man with all of his skin showing and his penis prominently protruding in his underwear is not being marked mature... But a Black woman's back fat got marked mature... A Black woman's skin got marked mature the moment I shared it... HMMMMMMM.
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
THATS CRAZY
Proship Cafe gets shut down- should it reopen? Let me know what you think!
are you five nights at fucking kidding me
I still think pregnancy and childbirth should be degendered. we stopped talking about that and I need us to pick it back up pls
People in the notes arguing that this is about individual comfort and misgendering are missing a major piece of the puzzle, which is that programs made for mothers and pregnant women often by definition exclude anyone whose gender marker is not F on every form they’ve ever filled out.
Insurance agencies use M markers to deny coverage for pregnancy related healthcare. Doctors offices hang up on pregnant people trying to schedule pre- and post-natal appointments for themselves because their voices or their names aren’t feminine enough. And if they manage to make the appointment, they can get harassed out of the waiting rooms or face medical malpractice behind closed doors.
Charities and benefits made for pregnant or new mothers don’t accept pregnant/new fathers or non-gendered parents. The WIC fund is called women, infants, and children.
If we degender pregnancy and childbirth (and periods while we’re at it) we open up support for every trans and intersex person who needs it. We normalize pregnant people of other genders and sexes, leaving less room for harassment and malpractice and more accountability for those who decide to be assholes anyway.
It’s not a-fucking-bout comfort. It’s about safety and survival. This can literally be the difference between life and death for some people.
Did you know that in some states children get taken away from parents who didn't do prenatal visits? Yes, this about poor people and people of color but it's also about the gnc and transmasc pregnant people avoiding prenatal care because of the hostility they encounter. It's about them trying to make appointments and being turned away because only women can get pregnant. It's about them not affording prenatal care that's not covered. These people are being punished by having their kids taken away. If we manage to survive pregnancy and childbirth we may have our kids taken away from the same system that had us fighting for our lives.

fandom will talk about a man being every flavor of closeted queer before they talk about his canon misogyny
In fiction, misogyny is okay. Murder is okay. This is because fiction is not real.
Rather than getting upset about the behavior of fictional characters, it is better to ask yourself, "what is the author trying to convey?"
yeah so i asked myself that and it turns out that in this case the author is usually trying to convey “i hate women”
and it’s crazy because that wasn’t even what my post was about. this one is actually completely about the way fandom interacts with spoken misogyny in fiction, by regularly and extensively conflating it with repressed queerness and/or using (headcanoned) queerness as a tool to justify and excuse the overt textual misogyny. i’m not even talking about WHY the writers chose to make this guy suck about women specifically, i’m just pissed off because i keep watching “omg so gay” tv shows and movies as recommended by other queer people and it turns out the “gayness” is in fact just a man hating women

Fascinating how what's considered feminine and what's considered masculine can change over time. The rebranding of being a horse girl into being a stereotypical feminine girly trait needs to be studied.
Look at classic children's novels. As recently as the 50s and early 60s, being obsessed with horses as a girl was depicted as strange and tomboyish, and the very concept of being obsessed with horses from early childhood and loving toy horses and desperately wanting your own horse being a "little girl thing" and not a "little boy thing" would send someone from the 1800s and earlier into a coma.
There's maybe a point to be made here somewhere about how when keeping and riding horses stopped being necessary to the functioning of society and became a more "frivolous" thing, it was rapidly rebranded as silly and girly and for women, but what do I know.
I LOVE me!
TME = cis men, cis women, trans men, transmasculine nonbinary people.
TMA = trans women, transfeminine nonbinary people.
Both categories include women and nonbinary people
Both categories include people with penises, and people with vaginas, and people with ambiguous genitals.
Both categories include intersex people.
TME includes cis and trans men.
Anyone claiming this is a binary is being disingenuous or willfully ignorant, which is honestly the same thing.
This one's too good to leave in the notes:
