Ppl will say conformitygate is real but not understand that part of the Fake Uncanny Valley Ending was the underlying cruelty of the narrative towards Henry, the victim of abuse, and how he suddenly turns into a possessive psycho 3/4 of the way into the show (like Jud from Oklahoma!). But no actually the fake end must be because Henry actually won and has always been the monster so our heroes can decapitate him again. I guess.

What I really like about conformitygate is that it’s pushing the general audience to think critically about why certain things feel odd or out of place. The writers have drifted so far from the show’s message that they’ve made viewers believe the characters are trapped in a conformist illusion. The irony.

I have a problem with the lack of good visual storytelling and lack of leaving-it-up-to-the-audience-to-understand-it-when-it-actually-makes-sense-to-do-so in both the last season of stranger things (while still having some tiny sliver of hope for conformitygate) and also in most mass media production these days but I can also understand the catering towards the general audience but I'm also pissed off. What I really mean by this is if a production believes itself to be this highly philosophical production it should either commit to the bit (re: my hate towards Everything, Everywhere, All at Once) or it should know when to make fun of itself (yes I am a Darin Morgan fan, next question).

TL;DR: It seems to me that most media I get to consume these days are perfunctory rigmaroles of sanctimonious bullshit. Fuck that.
