I’ve decided to make a new masterpost because flight SMP has taken over my brain. I love dragons and this whole series is right up my alley. This will mostly be for my aus. Though I might also start a mini wiki due to how much research I have been doing for this smp and the fact that there isn’t much on the current fan wikis at the moment. I know I have been posting a lot about the Pyro and Maddy situation but I want to throw my two cents in.
I didn’t say anything before because I was giving them time to clear up the misunderstanding. However they have yet to do that… or if they have tried it’s clear it hasn’t left an enough of an impact to do anything to change the situation.
I made a whole ramble speech about my feelings and how disillusioned I have started to become around writing anything that is related to irl people. in an earlier draft but I decided it was too long and incoherent so I am just going to say this:
As a fic writer who only writes platonic fics (not because I dislike shipping but just because I am bad at writing relationships that go past platonic). If you limit one type of creative expression, you limit all types of creative expression. Art is art, and the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Meaning that even if someone makes platonic art or fics, if someone reads it as a relationship then the creator is likely to be harassed.
Pyro and Maddy, I don’t know if you will see this, but if you do I need to tell you as respected creators, your words hold meaning, and trolls will take any opportunity to send hate mail and death threats. So by publicly saying that any art, made from now on, that ships you and any other character is against your boundaries, You basically put a bounty on any art that features you and anyone else from now on.
No one wants to be harassed. Because of this not only will you not have new art of you come out but you also risk old art being taken down due to it “not respecting your boundaries”. I know Pyro said he doesn’t not want that, but trolls do not care and will go to bat for a cause that they can harass someone over, especially if they don’t like a specific group (queer). So people may take down their art, or edit you out of it either to respect your boundaries or because they are being harassed about it.
If people don’t feel safe to create art around you, they won’t feel compelled to watch you. You will lose followers over this. If you haven’t already. Art boost creators and creators boost art. If one part of that symbiosis dies so does the other part.
Also this not only hurts you two and your fans but flight smp as a whole. I feel so bad for Roscucmber and the rest of the flight team. They worked so hard on a cool smp that had magic and dragons and was a really creative and cool idea. And now it’s suffering back to back fandom tragedy with the A&M scandal last months and now this. Honestly I hope they can still pull off an amazing season even after all this. It’s the least they deserve after drawing such a short straw.
Overall, I am not trying to attack Pyro and Maddy for their decisions, I just want to play out the reality of where I think this part of the fandom is heading in a attempt to hopefully steer it away and maybe even mitigate some of the damage if I can. Because I genuinely did love the flight smp.
Incredibly long post incoming, here's my full two cents on the Maddy/Pyro situation:
Pyroscythe and Millkberry do not have any right to control what people make and produce for themselves and others on the internet. The content is not for them. What they have a right to, as the ccs behind their characters, is controlling what content gets shown to them. In their streams, in their servers, in their dms, and in tags relavent to their cc titles. That is where they should have control. Pyro should not "have his little birds everywhere". His mods and community should not come after others for their fan content. It is simply not their business.
It is understandable, when you have put so much of yourself into a character, and your partner has done the same, that you may feel uncomfortable when people choose to pair up those characters with people who are not your partner. The beautiful thing about the internet is that you can choose not to see or acknowledge it. You can ban it in your personal spaces. You can block relevant tags and keywords. You can have a trusted person filter out the fan content they think you'll enjoy and send it to you. There are ways to reach an equilibrium where fans can have fun playing with digital barbie dolls, and creators can comfortably appreciate the sides of their fandom that put out creations they enjoy. It isn't as hard as ccs like to make it seem.
I think a lot of people are being harsher than they need or intend to be. Whether it is because of all of the mcyt situations happening recently, or because fear leads people to slam face-first into the worst possible assumptions, people are being incredibly unforgiving of either the ccs or other fans depending on the "side" they're taking. Please take this moment to remember that everyone involved in and witnessing this situation is human. Humans make mistakes. Humans can learn from those mistakes if they are given the chance. Please give the other people in this space a chance.
The reason why most people, like myself, are upset, is not because of the loss of a favorite ship or two. That is obviously still saddening for some, but there is a bigger issue. Trying to ban any specific thing is a pipeline into censorship. The moment you start censoring something, people will begin asking the question of "what else deserves to be censored?" First it's just the shipping of a couple characters, but it spreads from there.
This is especially a problem when the content that is being censored is predominantly queer. Most of the ships involving Pyro and Maddy's characters are queer in nature. Most of the people shipping them with other characters are queer themselves. It is outright dangerous to ban marginalized content in any regard and expect the censorship to end there.
Before someone refutes that by saying that that isn't Pyroscythe and Millkberry's intentions, you cannot claim to be banning something to one effect and therefore all other effects don't exist. If you ban all foods with sugar, natural or otherwise, then you thereby ban all fruits. You cannot claim that you did not ban fruits, because banning sugar had that additional affect, whether you intended it to or not.
Fan spaces are not made for the content creators. They can browse as a guest, but the things we make are not meant to be for them unless the creators are directly tagged. Creators are not and never have been entitled to the fanworks based on their characters or content.
Some additional things that I want to note but don't have the energy to work into the rest of this post properly:
1: I actually am really glad that Pyro and Maddy were reasonable enough to mention not deleting old fan content. That is a very basic thing, but I've seen many times in this fandom and others where fans immediately moved to get rid of everything they've ever made in hopes of not upsetting creators. I am a firm believer in archival, and I'm happy that everything that's already been made isn't gone.
2: I know in this post, I didn't mention a whole lot about the difference between boundaries and rules/control which Maddy and Pyro have seemed to mistake. This specific issue has been covered a bajillion times by others who have made amazing points which I would just be plagiarizing at that point.
3: I really dislike how most of the people talking about this situation are addressing Pyro but not Maddy. I have a lot of thoughts about how it's misogynistic and completely ignoring half of the problem, but that isn't what this post is about and I don't have the words to go in depth on that right now.
If anyone has anything to add to this, please do add!! I think community discussion is one of the most important things right now and I know there's probably things I've forgotten or things that others have the words for which I don't.
I know that there is a lot of young people in the mcyt fandom, who have not developed and learned how to pick apart texts and notice specific things in them yet. So, because of recent stuff and the words "boundaries", "rules" and "censorship" being thrown around like candy, here's someone who has these skills (me) going through Millkberrys and Pyroscythes statements.
(TW for death, rape and sa threats, mention of sh and harassment, use of the r-slur)
First off, the actual official definitions of the words:
(The first one is from wikipedia, the other two from the Cambridge dictionary, you can look them up if you'd like full confirmation on the sources.)
(notable, fan works such as fanart, fanfiction and headcanons or shitposts are considered a work of art and/or kind of communication with other fans.)
(notable #2, the ideas people are allowed to express and the certain ideas that are included or supported in this case is the shipping of the creators characters.)
(notable #3, content creators / mcyts are minor celebrities and with that have authority over their fan communitys. If you disagree, feel free to block me, I will not be arguing over this.)
And now, me marking/highligthing things in the statements that fit those definitions/descriptions:
What's a boundary or implies one is marked with green.
What's not a boundary is marked with yellow.
What's a rule or implies a rule is marked with blue.
What's censorship is marked red.
I want it to be noted that the only times boundaries are implied or mentioned by either of them, is the word, regarding that this is for Millkberrys mental health or when the actual act of setting boundaries is dismissed (as a past action or entirely).
This is not to mention Pyroscythes literal thread of harassment and policing people, which has already taken action through other fans putting death and rape threads in peoples ask boxes:

Apparently one of Pyroscythes mods claimed on Twitter that it was meant as a joke. However, considering the very serious nature of both the stream segment and his expression as well as the fact that it came from a mod and Pyroscythe has yet to actually say anything on this themself, I'm inclined to not believe it.
Lastly, my opinion on this:
Harassment is never okay and no matter how many times these creators have said in the past that they don't endorse it, reality is looking different right now. You cannot tell your large audience what Pyroscythe has told his and expect it not to listen to you, no matter if it was meant as a joke or not.
This is not a boundary, it is a rule at minimum and censorship at worse. Censorship is rampant right now and fandom spaces are some of the few spaces that allow free expression, trying to take that away is not okay. If you cannot handle seeing ship content of your characters, then you should block people who do make art of it, block the shipping tags and not go out of your way to look for it. You can ask people not to show that art to you, and that is completely valid. It is also completely valid to ban people from Stream chats and discords if they do show it to you. It is not valid to tell people what kind of art they can and cannot create however. And if you can't handle the idea of ship content of your characters existing at all, then maybe you should rethink your career choice as a content creator who focuses on roleplay and character creation.
Peeps in extreme temperatures, plain water is NOT the only way to stay hydrated and can in fact be more dangerous if you're sweating a lot and not putting more electrolytes back into your body.
There are a ton of quick and cheap electrolyte drink recipes that you can find online. Tea, coffee, cocount water, milk, milk substitutes, juice, etc are all hydrating despite extremely persistent myths. Many fruits and veggies like cucumbers, watermelon, strawberries, bell peppers, etc have high water content and are a great way to hydrate while also getting vital nutrients. Popsicles are also a good way to stay cool and hydrated and you can buy them or make your own with whatever ingredients you want; there are recipes online, including ones for electrolyte popsicles, but you can also just do basic ones with your choice of fruit juice and whatever you want to add, like chunks of fresh or frozen fruit.
Anyone who is telling you that you can ONLY drink plain water to stay hydrated is incredibly misinformed, even if they have experience with high temperatures.
i completely respect the updated boundaries from pyroscythe and millkberry but if i may be honest a second, i am terrified of the potential for witch hunting in what was previously a very safe fandom
the line between platonic and romantic is so thin, i’m so scared for artists and authors getting flamed because they created something completely platonic that got misinterpreted because people see character a and b standing next to each other and go wow must be a ship!
don’t get me wrong, pyro is one of my favourite streamers, but even i can admit that the comments about spies and sending people after “repeat offenders” rub me the wrong way
policing something as nuanced as this has some scary potential for attacking innocents and scaring off your own fandom if they feel monitored like this to an extreme you don’t get in any other fan spaces
again i respect the creators and their boundaries, i just don’t think this kind of enforcement is a good idea and honestly i hope they retract that particular statement about the “birds”

These were pretty hard to pin down so they might be slightly off but this is a fairly close estimate based off of footage. I am pretty confident of the first 25 but I am going to try and double check the last few. However, since it’s been forever and I am pretty confident in my list, I figured I would post it anyways since you guys have been waiting so long.
I am finally finishing up with midterms. I should be done tomorrow so I’ll try and start to get back to my flight smp au. I might be a little slow to work on the au, partially because I lost steam after everything that happened. Even though I want to get back into it because that concept was cool I need to get back into a groove with it.
But also because TADC just finished and I want to write about it! Specifically I want to add my own spin on the ctrl alt del au’s I have been seeing. I think they are so cool and I want to try my own spin on it. I don’t know if it will be any good but I think it will be fun to write!
Btw, I mostly had the lists for flight smp powers and dragons done, but I ended up halting my progress on it for obvious reasons. I was thinking about finishing them and posting them but if I do I wanted your opinions on it. So it’s poll time again!

Also luckily I figured out when they got their powers before the whole scandal and I can use other pov’s for the dragon info so I won’t be watching their videos to finish the lists.

Y'know with all this "Write avid out of the story," and "Replace him with an OC." it kinda makes me wonder what would happen if avid just, never showed up to Oakhurst.
Like, how much longer do the vampires stay hidden without avid immediately clocking Scott? What about the more rational members and the books? Since Shelby's delusion isn't overshadowed or supported by avid how does she fair?
It's a genuinely interesting question to me, and I was kinda thinking about writing an AU without someone to fill the town crier role? Just thought I'd ask about peoples opinions.
I like all of these ideas. I would like to see this kind of au though now that there’s not only a reason for it but because it would majorly impact the story.
Not only would the vampires possibly stay undercover longer. But Pyro and Owen might stay alive. Although maybe not Owen due to his suicidal tendencies. And while it might be harder to convince Scott not to kill the remaining humans I think Cleo could actually do it. So this might be a good chance for an everyone lives au. If that is where you want to take it. Either was the idea sounds interesting to me.
Have you noticed that their heads aren't circles? And more then that, the crooks and kinks are consistent. Here I searched and traced it for the future reference purposes 👍
