everyone i've talked to about this has been completely unaware so: if you didn't know already, there's going to be a solar eclipse, with totality or coverage of 90% or more in some places, over a lot of europe, on august 12th 2026. in the uk it will start just after 6pm, and the maximum will be at 7:13pm.

This unusual 1981 home in Loveland, CO is a faithful interpretation of Frank Lloyd Wright's iconic Jacobs II Solar-Hemicycle, designed by David Eric Calvin. Built into the hillside for passive solar energy, it has 2bds, 5ba, 4,136sqft, $2.75m.

Look at these stairs. Tiles, rocks, and a waterfall/fountain.
Look at this wall. isn't it interesting? It looks like it was once a fireplace, but it's hard to tell, b/c there's a modern free-standing fireplace on a stone platform. The rocks look like stairs and there's a glass insert in the opening.
What a cozy nook. Love the blue fireplace and the built-in seating.
Along the side there's more living room seating.
The kitchen is next to the living room area.
Very cool kitchen. Love the color of the island, and look at how many chairs fit around it.
Kitchen details. It looks brand new, it's so well-cared for.
Then, along this area beyond the kitchen, there's the formal dining area, and it has doors to the patio. It also has a built-in cabinet and a recessed wall.
Very nice. I don't usually care for beamed ceilings, but these are modern looking.
The chandelier looks kind of medieval.
On the far wall of the dining area, there's this built-in sideboard with a gorgeous gold brick wall.
Look at how the floor boards curve.
This is crazy. There's a hot tub and sitting area, like being at a resort.
And, there's also this round sunroom that opens to a patio. I wasn't happy b/c they don't show the bedrooms, and I looked for other photos but there weren't any. So, I dug deeper and this is what I found: They usually aren't featured in photographs because the sleeping areas, true to Frank Lloyd Wright's original Jacobs II "Solar-Hemicycle" blueprint, are an open loft or mezzanine that overlooks the main ground-floor living space. This creates an open-plan layout lacking traditional closed walls, which impacts privacy and often makes them less photogenic than the dramatic main gathering areas.
kind of weird how parts of your soul are left in various locations without any warning… like yes i’m always at the top of that hill, sitting at the bus stop, in the cool light of the Japanese restaurant, standing at the pier etc etc
