The villain cares for his henchmen
This was something that I had bouncing around my head for a bit, the setting is a funeral of Villainās seemingly ordinary henchman Bob.

CW: Death, funeral, mentions of death, firearms, mentions of harm
Villain was standing in front of a large door, it led to the church where Bobās funeral was held.Ā
Bob had been a henchman for 10 years and just recently passed away at 75 after a corrupt hero knocked down his base. Though Bob was, due to his experience, his left hand, heād do all the accounting and byrocracy paperwork, heck, he even filed taxes for him. Now it was all gone.
Villain entered the building. The ceremony didnāt happen - nobody showed up. Villain came closer to the coffin, in it, the peacful face of Bob, no sings of the scuffle he had endured. Villain dismissed it as a mortician who could do his job very well. Villain thought back to the day, it was a week ago. Villain sighed. The door opened and Villain turned towards it. In walks Hero.
āAh, Villain, didnāt expect to see you here!ā The Hero calls, their voice shaky.
āWhat are you doing here?ā The Villain snarls, he doesnāt want a fight.
āIām here to mourn the death of my co-worker,ā Hero said, coming closer.
The Villain looks in confusion at Hero,Ā āYour co-worker? He is... Was my henchman?!ā He says in bewilderment and Hero looks shocked.
āHe was our accountant,ā He says, coming closer to Villain.
āHe was my accountant, my left hand, if you say it like that,ā Villain says,Ā āHe actually died to save my life. The guy was like the grandpa I never had,ā The Villain sniffles.
āHow? We were told it was a heart attack,ā Hero says, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
Villain teared up,Ā āIt happened a week ago,ā Villain sniffles,Ā āIt...ā Villain exhales, tears threatening to spill out of his eyes.Ā āIt was night, about midnight...ā Villain gulps, Bob was really like a grandpa.Ā āBob and I were the only ones in the building, I was trying to convince him to leave, when suddenly, one of the heroes tears down the door, it hit Bob square in his face and he toppled from his chair, a fight broke out, I was unprepared,ā The villain sighs,Ā āI wish I couldāve done more, but some rubble fell on him, it was bits of the ceiling panels, but Bob was weak from the blow... The hero had me pinned to a wall and wanted to kill me, but then a shot rang out, it barely missed him. It was Bob with his trusty Magnum, he fired it twice again, this time hitting the hero in the shoulder, the hero retaliated by thowing a knife at Bob, he managed to fire off a shot tha pierced the heroās head, killing him. Sadly, the knife also finds its target, Bob died on the spot,ā Villain breaks into tears and hugs Hero.Ā āI WISH I COULDāVE DONE MORE!ā He wails and they both sit down on the steps in front of the coffin.
āShh, youāve done enough,ā Hero says, petting Villainās hair.
āYes, quite,ā A familiar voice rings out behind them.Ā āYouāve done quite enough, but now, itās time for me to move along,ā The hero and villain turn, Bob was propping himself up in the coffin.Ā āI just donāt get your hiring criteria, you hire someone well past their prime. And I made it very obvious, just the files Iāve brought you, thanks for the keys, by the way, should have been hint enough,ā Bob says.Ā āIām immortal, I had about 8 henchman jobs, and none of the villains ever cared for their henchmen, I maybe will stay here, to be honest,ā Bob trails off.Ā āYāknow, deal with the corruption,ā
āYou fucking asshole,ā Is all that Villain manages to say before hugging Bob.Ā āI thought you were dead!ā He says.

Thatās a wrap. I also had something to do with Bob stealing those files, but I didnāt know how to incorporate it.
