This is insane. This is INSANE. Murderbot who is kind versus Perihelion who is moral. The difference between kindness and morality; how morality does not have to be dictated by the concept of kindness, and perceived kindness can violate morality. How it's two non-human bots who are navigating this dilemma of what would be considered an act of morality versus an act of mercy.

Murderbot saying it would have been an act of kindness to be killed while it was a slave to a brutal corporation, and ART telling it "you know I am not kind" HOLY FUCK??? Essentially "Yeah, maybe it would have been kinder, but I wouldn't have extended that kindness to you because I want you alive"

Murderbot: SecUnits wouldn't just randomly start killing humans if they didn't have governer modules that's just propaganda. Anyways, I pretty much never give the code to jailbreak governer modules to other SecUnits in case they randomly start killing the humans I'm looking after.

Ok, so: (some small spoilers under the cut)

I asked & Martha answered: The governor module hack is being shared/spread by the SecUnits who've already accepted the hack as this book opens

Martha said sex-repulsed ace and aro SecUnit rights, and more generally that all SecUnit biology is not accessible for sex, even if an individual SecUnit's neural tissue would think well about romance. There would be a big trust issue between any SecUnit and a human to overcome; she didn't think it was likely.

S2 of the TV show will have snippets of World Hoppers.

MB would love The Pitt; no sex on screen, and competent humans giving help to people who needed help.

Humans have been in space a long time; the Corporation Rim hasn't been around for "hundreds of years," and is on the verge of breaking apart.

Lots of "yay!" for JollyBaby when it got mentioned.

There will be only one more book after this one unless something very different occurs to her during the writing; she doesn't do a ton of plotting & detailed mapping, just sees what happens.

She intended to end the series earlier but wanted to write more ART & MB.

It would be interesting "someday" to write more about the UNMT fleet of sentient ships but it's not currently a series she has a plan or plot for.

Her ideas start with the world first, and the story and characters second.

She shouted out all the hard work and detailed craft work costume and props do that goes into putting the visual world of MB on screen.

MB is doing better and she sees it continuing to get better in Platform Decay and after the series-- beyond that she doesn't have a set ending imagined for it.

"when did supernatural go downhill" is the wrong question to be asking because supernatural does not exist on an XY axis where it can go 'up' or 'down' hill, it exists in a plane that extends towards and away from the audience at various times based on writing, plots, and whether or not the gay angel is there. but at no point does it move up or down hill.

it's like i dont even want to talk about it but do you remember when they rebooted the karate kid franchise to be about the bully from the first movie who was now a poor washed up alcoholic deadbeat dad and gave him the craziest pyrrhic victory where he got everything he ever wanted and thought would fix his life (beating daniel larusso at the all valley under 18 karate tournament once and for all) but the only thing that happened was his worst nightmare and abusive father figure wandered back in and also he realized that his victory only pushed him further away from his son (symbolic of how him clinging to this fight and this loss through three decades only alientated him from his actual support network and destroyed his real relationships) and now he knows that beating daniel larusso never would've fixed anything and he has to do the hard work of growing and changing on his own but with his life in worse condition than its ever been in? and also he's bisexual?

Someone sent an ask about Murderbot Expressions (tm) and I got a lil distracted and drew... well Murderbot living up to its name.

In my second read through, it registered that Murderbot punched the Target UP into the bulkhead... not down onto the floor. like damn. what a construct.
