I am SO sorry that I haven't been on for basically the last month. School suddenly consumed my life and I couldn't get a break from it without getting bad grades (which would then end up with me getting grounded, and that isn't fun). I'm going to try extra hard to keep up on this blog and reply to rps that I have on my drafts. Hopefully I'll have them posted within the following week.
Pursing her lips, Lightning folded her arms over chest and relaxed slightly. It wasn’t often that people were like so.
Even when she tried to push her thoughts about her sister away, they seemed to continue to come back and haunt her. Such thoughts always seemed to eat away at her, but she had managed for a while to push them away and live life normally for a bit. Maybe if she could just simply find her.. “Right… right.” Lightning wasn’t aware of that she repeated herself, it just seemed to slip— it was more of supposed to be in her head than anything else. “That’s how siblings generally act, I guess.”
He knew it was rude to study her like this, considering that was a no-no even with people you knew, but he couldn’t help but wonder if the tension hadn’t lessened significantly, if at all, since they started talking. Maybe it was just how the pink-haired woman was and he was over-thinking her attitude. He tended to do that a lot, and it had gotten him into situations he would rather have avoided.
“Yeah, I mean, I don’t have any myself, but my best friends are like a brother and sister to me,” he shrugged. “Even though we’re not related, it almost feels like we are with the kind of things we do to each other.” Memories of almost daily footraces with Sora came to mind, and he couldn’t stop a smile from surfacing. “But I suppose all that matters is that—you have each other.”
Call her clueless for not noticing Riku's sudden studying, but she had no idea honestly. The woman seemed to be constantly lost in her own thoughts, as they were hard to escape from.
As she nodded, she understood what he was saying. It took her a long time to realize that friends are just as important as family was, and she often brushed others aside. It seemed Riku understood the subject with more ease than Lightning did. "I suppose so. As long as Serah's safe."

Blinking a few times, it took Lightning a couple minutes to realize that the man standing not too far off in the distance was the one and only, Noel Kreiss. Taking a few steps forward, she figured that it wouldn’t be too bad to start a small conversation with him. “Noel, hello.”
“L-Lightning?” the last time he had saw Lightning was in Valhalla when he first pasted into a world filled with people. “Is it really you?”
The slightest smile came across Lightning's face as Noel recognized who she was. "Indeed it is, Noel. This is no trick."

Flashing a quick smile, Lightning nodded dully. “Alright, if it’s okay with you then.” It wasn’t often that people were alright with her drifting off into her uttermost thoughts. Though, most were afraid of her reaction to their questioning— she was an ex solider with a hard attitude, after all.
Serah. Dear Serah, her beloved sister. Lightning had already lost her once before, set out on a long journey to save her. Though, it wasn’t long before she was taken away, having Serah to save the world— her thoughts were cut short as Riku’s question brought her back to reality. “Practically, we’ve had our moments.”
“Sure,” he nodded in reply. There was something half-hearted about her nod, but he ignored it. It would only be rude to ask what was up.
He noticed her eyes clouding over as she thought of her sister. He wondered if his eyes ever took on the same look when thinking of his best friends. But really, they were family too. Even if they hadn’t been through some really crazy times, they were always there for each other, and he treasured that friendship like nothing else. “Well, what siblings don’t, right?” he shrugged. Even though he had no brothers or sisters, he knew exactly what she was talking about. “That sounds good,” he added with a warm smile.
Pursing her lips, Lightning folded her arms over chest and relaxed slightly. It wasn't often that people were like so.
Even when she tried to push her thoughts about her sister away, they seemed to continue to come back and haunt her. Such thoughts always seemed to eat away at her, but she had managed for a while to push them away and live life normally for a bit. Maybe if she could just simply find her.. "Right... right." Lightning wasn't aware of that she repeated herself, it just seemed to slip-- it was more of supposed to be in her head than anything else. "That's how siblings generally act, I guess."
"Right, Halloween is soon... Great."
With gentle thunder tones, Serah’s lips smeared with a faint smirk. She lowered the hairs of her eyelashes as her optics sunk into the uncertain darkness. Time and space, they were once a disordered mess but now all was well, right? Serah wasn’t so sure anymore. Her mind was like hummingbird caged behind bars. There was no where to run but to face the future. But of course it didn’t matter anymore. None of it did.
Serah shook her head ever so lightly, an angel’s chortle escaping between her lips. She gazed her crystalline optics to Lightning as she extended both palms to thread their phalanges in sisters yarn.
”You’re right, Lightning. I’m just being a silly worry wort as usual. But you know— even if the world were to end right this second, I’ll regret nothing because you’re by my side. I can die happily while you’re by my side. Besides, don’t I need your blessings for a wedding? I want no regrets if anything were to happen. Let’s always stay like this as we are right now. “
A smile continued to remain across Lightning's face for a couple moments-- everything continued to feel so surreal. As her smile faded slightly, she reached out a hand to make sure-- just in case, that Serah was still with her. Fingers grazed the younger sibling's soft skin briefly before hesitantly pulling away, it was real. The once distortion between time and space was gone now, the true time line was right.
Silence continued to overcome Lightning for a few more moments, continuing to let the concept sink in. She let Serah run her delicate fingers through her unbrushed mane as she averted her sight.
"It's alright to worry sometimes, Serah. It's understandable of where you were coming from." Taking a quick breath, Lightning closed her eyes. "Generally, I'd tell you not to think such a thing, I'll appreciate what you said, Serah. For when that day comes, I sure hope that I'll be the one to fall before you." The slightest of smirks sketched itself on Lightning's lips her eyes glimmered open. "Say, didn't I already give you my blessing?"
Lightning almost smiled at the clear relief on the man’s face, it was the slightest bit humorous to her. “Are you sure…?” she wasn’t exactly certain if most people were alright when someone else got lost in their own thoughts; especially when they’re talking about something important. It wasn’t often that Lightning felt about about something.
A firm nod, yes family. It seemed that he didn’t have an actual mother or father, like herself, but close friends that he considered family. So, like the group she traveled with to save Cocoon, right? “I.. uh, have a sister. Her name’s Serah.” Though, she wasn’t quite sure whether to call Serah her younger sister anymore, since Etro decided to remove her from time.
“Really, it’s fine,” he promised with a little smile. It wasn’t like he never drifted off into his subconscious. Sometimes you just couldn’t help it, even in the middle of a conversation. He didn’t know why or how it happened, but it did.
“Serah,” he echoed. A very usual name, now that he thought about it. Not like any of his friends’ names, but more like a name belonging to a resident of a place like Twilight Town or Hollow Bastion. “Are you two close?”
Flashing a quick smile, Lightning nodded dully. "Alright, if it's okay with you then." It wasn't often that people were alright with her drifting off into her uttermost thoughts. Though, most were afraid of her reaction to their questioning-- she was an ex solider with a hard attitude, after all.
