You know that meme thatâs like âA job will have you, a 21 year old, with a 55 year old bestieâ Well, AU where Ilya gets hired at the Treasury Board and quickly becomes besties with David Hollander. Theyâre really good at their jobs so they finish most of their work by 10:30 am and spend the rest of the day fucking around and pretending to be busy together. They get lunch together and talk shit about their boss. David tells Ilya that heâs throwing a birthday party and asks Ilya to come. âYou can meet my son and talk hockey! I think youâll like him!â Ilya decides to go and the party is in full swing when he arrives. David takes him around, introducing him to people until they make it to Davidâs son. David introduces him to Shane and Ilya is taken by how beautiful Shane is. Heâs admiring Shaneâs freckles when it dawns on him that heâs staring at THE Shane Hollander, best hockey player in the league. David told him that his son plays hockey but he never put it together that Davidâs Shane was THE Shane. Ilya and Shane end up in the far corner of the living room, talking all night as the party goes on around them. Years later at their wedding, during his speech, David admits to throwing the birthday party to hook Ilya and Shane up.
Asking my sister what she thinks of Sam (sheâs midway through The Assassinâs Blade for the first time) and without missing a beat goes âoh I donât like him. Heâs annoyingâ.
Then she asked âDoes he show up much in the later books? Cause Iâm gonna be mad if he doesâ âŠI just said ânot that muchâ
(Sheâs shipping Celaena and Ilias currently instead lol)
Do you think if Ilya could appear to his former sad childhood self to reassure him in the dark isolated times of his childhood he would be like âItâs okay little me, one day you will have a loving family and true happiness just be braveâ. I donât.
I think he would say âitâs okay f-slur, we end up locking down a fucking underwear model who can come from sucking cock never kill yourselfâ.
I finally started reading Better In Black today and I started crying on the second page because Will and Tessa are young and in love and it made my heart ache
Finished Love Song yesterday and yes I did absolutely bawl my eyes out during Wyatt and Garrettâs big conversation thank you for asking
If two men made a secret pact to use a woman as a broodmare without her consent or knowledge, no one would blame her for hating them when she found out
Aedionâs crashout defender to the death
so i've officially been waiting for almost a decade to see ty and kit's story portrayed and let me tell you i've been in love with them since their very first scene. they became my roman empire in lady midnight with barely, what, five or ten pages together? they're /that/ good
I keep getting baffled when I see people have never read Tower of Dawn or even read it as a standalone book. Like what do you mean you canât sit down and read the book by itself?? Like itâs so weird to me that people actively admit they never read it/skimmed it. And to say that you like the series?? You havenât even read it?? Like how lazy
Itâs not cutesy or funny that people skip a whole entire book in a series. Why would an author write a book for the series if they didnât want you to read it?
Shut the fuck up, Amren.
No one haunts a narrative like Will Herondale.

incredible that will's curse dictated that those who loved him would die, and yet those who loved him the most never did. not in his lifetime at least, and not for a long time after. jem was always meant to die, and yet still he lives a century and a half later. and tessa, while she was always going to be immortal, should never have been able to carry that life farther into a next generation, and yet she was able to spark new life with will. it's all continuity and perpetuity and new beginnings and, in everything filled with love that surrounds will, the very oppostite of death.
personal headcanon that kevin day becomes a museum curator after retiring from his professional exy career
Real talk though. When people say âthe last time Aelin shared her plans someone diedâ to justify the bit in EoS I scoff.
So what? By EoS itâs war. People are going to die anyway. And you wonât tell your childhood best friend/cousin, one of your inner circle, the fucking General of your country, the REASON you had a country to come back to, a man who has fought in more battles and kept more of your people alive than you have, and someone who is so fucking loyal to you and still fought for you even though you couldâve been dead the whole time and has followed you trustingly this whole time, that youâve called for allies but are sure that theyâll come through.
Itâs ridiculous. Itâs shortsighted. And honestly shows how far she had to go in development. Because if she hadnât had the allies up her sleeve then Aedion shouldâve been back in Terrasen drumming up whatever support and defence he could. And I know itâs stupid bc SJM wanted there to be a surprise to make Aelin seem clever but it bothers me the way she writes Aedion. And then heâs mocked relentlessly by the fandom for the whole âwhere are allies?â bit when heâs honestly the most logical one there.
PLEASE the whole idea of that scene makes me so upset i try not to think about it but when aedion finds out about aelins plan to use him hes upset and people blame him for that,
ALSO HE DID NOT LITERALLY THROW LYSANDRA INTO THE SNOW HE TOLD HER TO GET OUT OF HIS TENT, THERE. IS. A. DIFFERENCE.
but yeah anti aelin for that scene (and for a few others)
He deserved a bigger crashout then what he actually had đââïžđââïž
and omg the idea that he literally threw her out in the snow PISSES ME OFF TOO!!! Iâm convinced some people didnât read it properly, heard someone say âthrew her outâ and took it literally.
yeah and then at the end of KoA he just hugs her like its all over with and normal (well i guess he just like. lost his father.) but yeah he deserves to be angry actually he deserves his own book give him his own book now sarah

Like Aedion is actually one of the most dedicated characters in the book. Heâs this loyal fighter who plays double agent for YEARS to save Terrasen, he challenges Aelin a lot but in the beginning I feel like SJM wanted him to be a character who exposes Aelins weaknesses. Like Aedion has the loyalty to Aelin and Terrasen that everyone attributes to Fenrys but he also doesnât just âyes maâamâ her like everyone else does. But then she makes him seem like a fucking meat head even though we have all this info that shows the opposite?
Also she builds them up so much in QoS and you have Aelin, Rowan, Aedion, and Lysandra (+ Evangeline) as a squad. But by the end of KoA they donât even seem that close? Like Aedion and Lysandra got replaced by Elide, Lorcan, and Fenrys? (especially by the fandom but anyways) At least Aelin sticks to her guns about Gavriel but then that just ends up being depressing anyway.
This is all mainly cause Iâm rereading ToG and thereâs a couple of lines where Celaena is like âIâll win this competition and then Iâll disappear into the wildness and never deal with kings or countries againâ (and mind you the wilderness is referring to Terrasen) but all I can think about is how Aedion is literally years into risking his life for Terrasen at that point, and had Nehemiah and Elena not stirred up stuff, then Aelin wouldâve never cared to have reclaimed the throne. So Aedion wouldâve been the one of the only hopes for Terrasen anyway.
