I think we donât talk enough about Neilâs understated sex appeal. I just know he lifts the hem of his shirt to wipe the sweat on his face on the treadmill, and on the one next to him Kevin trips and almost falls. I know his running shorts ride up at one point and there is a loud thump from the direction of Andrewâs leg curl machine. I know he pours a bottle of water on his face and chest while running outside one day and some poor freshman girl gets a stroke unrelated to the heat. And the best part is heâs completely unaware of it.
the only way i would trust an aftg live action is if it was done by a group of college students with a vintage camcorder and a bunch of thrift shopped outfits and diy props committing to the bit literally for the love of the fucking game where the acting and the music and the cinematography end up being immaculate due to pure passion and devotion to the both the art form and the source material such that by the end you forget you're watching some low budget grainy video made by rubbing two pennies together cus you're too busy watching the final moments through your tears
that or if the people who did heated rivalry did it but thats IT
kandriel where kevin is involved in the âbut that doesnât mean i wouldnât blow youâ conversation
Andrew: But that doesnât mean i wouldnât blow you.
Neil: ???
Kevin, who is not drunk enough for this: âŠIâm still here? Do i leave and give you two some space..?
Andrew: This invitation isnât limited to one.
Kevin, who is absolutely NOT drunk enough for this: ???
is there fics like this. someone recommended me it. or write it. pls đ„č
Also was thinking about Superman fanboy Bruce again but with a slight twist. Which is, in Kryptonian culture, instead of white for weddings, brides are covered in the colors and crest of the family they are joining. And this has been a tradition for so long that it has basically become DNA, an instinctive response that someone wrapped in your colors and symbols is yours, or one of yours. This is also the reason infants are dressed similarly, as a symbol of the family and a sort of marking. It also helps promote bonding between family members.
Now, I want you to picture Clark coming by unexpectedly to talk to Bruce. And Bruce is sitting in bed with a big blanket with the Superman symbol wrapped around him. His room is scattered with various decorations and things, all with the colors, the symbol. Maybe in addition to the blanket he's wearing like Superman PJ pants and a T-shirt or something. He looks like a bride.
And Clark doesn't know that, and even if he was aware, he knows it's a coincidence. But he already has a crush, and every part of him is now screaming that Bruce is his.

sometimes I think about how Wymack made the foxes because he never wanted another kid to go through what he did only for his own son to qualify. and then i stare into the sun

sometimes i think about how neil probably went days without speaking to another human being before becoming a guy who literally couldn't keep his mouth shut if his life depended on it in contrast to an andrew who literally couldn't shut up bcus of the meds before returning to his normal state of 'i speak to 3 people and one of them is my therapist' and its just like wow. andreil.
absolute menace but still such a good boy :')))
lifeâs really been feeling like shane being ghosted for six months and then getting no kiss and no explanation and sent away right after sex lately
okay this scene makes me INSANE:
neil reaching over to touch andrew's heart before neil gets lost in his more brutally violent memories is so so precious to me what do you MEAN.
in every way neil is kept grounded by andrew by physical touch. andrew stepping closer to neil and taking his weight, andrew's hand on the back of his neck, and now, neil reaches out to him for that comfort even though he knows it "crosses a precarious line" and andrew lets it be
After the foundation is established and before they're outed, Shane and Ilya go viral on hockey twitter.
It's All Stars and a camera catches them sitting together on the bench during the skills competition, leaning in and whispering to each other, clearly trying to be sneaky. They're both kind of smiling, looking like they're trying not to laugh. Then Ilya says something that makes Shane crack up and have to hide his face while he's trying to pull himself together. This moment gets giffed and everyone is dying to know what made the famously cool and collected Shane Hollander laugh like that.
Shane and Ilya don't comment on this incident despite being asked repeatedly and after they're outed, everyone assumes they were just flirting. They readily let that be the story, because they're not about to admit they were actually talking major shit about the other players.
@heatonice I have no self restraint and too much free time. I apologise... (there's also a baby Ilya and an adult Ilya now)
what if shane started doing yoga to increase his flexibility because after his first time with ilya his hip flexors hurt more than anything else. but he loooooved getting folded in half like that so much (and the look that ilya always gets when theyâre pressed that much closer to each other) that he decided he just needed to get better at being bendy and yoga seemed like a good way to do that. so he asked both the goalie AND the physical therapist for the metros on ways to improve flexibility, especially in his hips, but then he had to come up with a reason why he was asking on the spot bc he obviously couldnât just tell them it was so he could be better at bottoming for his arch fucking rival and itâs not like he was going to change positions on the ice and start playing goalie, so he panicked and made up something about bad hips running in his dadâs family and he didnât want to have to get a hip replaced in his late 30s so he was trying to get ahead of it.
so the pt gives him some specific stretches to do (some of which will also improve his already impressive back arch) but also recommends he take up yoga, and shane rolls his eyes about it later in his car (because doing it in front of the pt would be rude) but then he figures âwhat the hell, canât hurt to tryâ and finds that he actually really likes it. it makes his brain calm down a bit, itâs not totally quiet up there but it feels more like a manageable trickle of thoughts instead of the uncontrollable tsunami that his brain usually feels like. itâs nice, he can focus on the stretch of his muscles and the way that the constant vice-like pressure in his chest loosens a bit. plus, if it will make his hookups with ilya even better, itâs gotta be worth it.
of course, ilya has no idea that shane took up yoga essentially for him, and shaneâs never going to tell him because he knows ilya will tease him about it for the rest of their lives. but every time that ilya pushes his knees up to his chest when theyâre getting down and dirty he gets a little spark of satisfaction and accomplishment in his chest knowing that he did this for them, he put in the work to make these moments even better. heâll put up with ilyaâs chirps about how boring he is when he does his yoga because he knows itâs so worth it.
Mary taught Neil to be fine.
A gash on her side from a close call: âIâm fine, Abram, just pass me the alcohol,â face set and ungiving.
His stomach revolting against a bad meal at an inconvenient time: âYou're fine, Lucas, keep walking,â nails digging into his arm, dragging him down the crowded street.
Dark circles under her eyes after a shaky night: âI'm fine, Abram, practice your French,â sipping her coffee like he can't see her bloody cuticles.
And Neil has always been a fast learner. âI'm fine, I'm fine, I'm fine,â his litany walking away from a burning car, alone for the first time in his life.
âI'm fine,â to Coach Hernandez, to Coach Wymack, to the Foxes.
Iâm fine through it all, until Andrew takes the words from him and refuses to give them back. Then Neil has to face the truth, and learn to bear it.
Now thinking about who taught Mary to be fine.
Is it a family heirloom they've been passing down one generation to the next for ages until Neil breaks the cycle? Did Mary have a mother who held her shoulders back from their hunch, whispered in her year, "You're fine, Mary, behave yourself" when introduced to her future husband? "You will be just fine Mary, don't make a scene" when they're packing her bags to send her to another continent?
Or did Mary have to learn to be fine all by herself? Alone on the other side of the ocean from her real home, stuck with an abusive husband and his minions in a big empty house? On the run with her son, knowing they'd be running forever or until they were caught?
Did she learn the importance of being fine for her son? "Just do as she says, you will be fine" hiding her own trepidation when Lola drags him to the basement, knives in hand and dangerous smile on her face? "It's just an Exy game, Abram, it will be fine" knowing full well it isn't? "You're fine, I'm fine" all the time on the run, trying to shelter him from the worst of it she herself cannot escape, trying to be strong for him when everything seems hopeless?
Who taught you to be fine, Mary Hatford?
