Advice for people in their 20s from someone who’s just entered their 30s....
1. Don’t waste time being fearful: go for that job that you’re certain you’re not gonna get. What’s the worse that can happen? You are rejected, but you gain interview experience. Self-doubt is really a waste of time.
2. Live in the present. Yes, it is important to plan for the future, but it is easy to put off living until it is too late. Make sure that you have no regrets about what you should have done. Do one exciting thing per year.
3. Know your worth. This applies to both work and relationships; never sell yourself short. No job or romance is more important than your self respect. Also, charge for any unique skills/services that you can offer.
4. Don’t be afraid to leave bad situations. I left a stable but draining teaching job in order to protect my mental health. Even though this was a big risk, it was the best decision I ever made. NOTHING is more important than your mental health.
5. Most 20 somethings feel that they are underachieving. This is normal - especially in today’s financial climate. Don’t feel bad if you are still living at home and cannot afford to rent/buy. I’m 30 and still living at home, saving to buy.
6. People will disappoint you, but most of the time, it’s not about you. Everybody has their own demons and traumas that make them behave in certain ways. If somebody disrespects you, assert your boundaries and keep it moving. Also, examine if there was anything you could have done to avoid the situation. But DO NOT let it eat away at you.
7. In love, nobody owes you anything. Even if they made a promise, they are their own person…Everybody has the right to change their mind and to leave a situation which is not beneficial for them. This is hurtful and hard to accept, but it is the truth.
8. Learn to enjoy your own company. Your 20s can be a lonely time as your social sphere narrows, due to employment, finances and exhaustion. Use this time to find out more about yourself and do the things that you enjoy. There is something liberating about eating at a restaurant alone.
9. Be kind, don’t gossip or overshare. I am still working on this one. It is really difficult to be kind and positive in a world full of annoying people. However, your attitude will influence how you are being perceived. If you are unkind, people will laugh at your jokes but they will never trust you. They will never trust you not to treat them as you treat other people. Remove yourself from toxic people, and only share negativity (sadness/anger/depression) with a therapist and one other person that you trust. If you overshare negative feelings, you may be stereotyped as being full of drama. Furthermore, people will want you to stay in a negative place because it’s entertaining and makes them feel better about their own lives. Just don’t do it.
10. You cannot win every battle. Within conflict, it is tempting to try to force others to agree with your perspective. However, most people are set in their ways, and find it difficult to change their views and behaviours. This is especially important when dealing with toxic family members. You may never get the apology and empathy that you seek, so it is important to accept that every battle cannot be won, and gain validation internally, rather than externally.

2018 is in full swing and we all are excited about what’s to come this year.
I know I am.
Coming into this year has been a wirldwind for me. I just came off of another domestic tour teaching sex education and self empowerment and jumped right into wifey life.
Yes, I’m married now 💍 And Happy
In the midst of wedding planning I began tour planning and immediately started to experience anxiety around the whole thing. I stacked up hella tour days on the east coast thinking I was about to plan another domestic tour. Outwardly I projected optimism, but internally I felt pressed.
I’ve successfully toured the US for two years straight and I’ve done classes in Canada and the UK. It’s been hard yet rewarding work. I’ve planned all the dates, made all the event pages and most of my event fliers. I’ve promoted primarily via my social media for these tours, handled ticket sales and customer service, paid for venues and travel with every dime I have and taught each and every class. After two years of doing hella work in the US, I’m ready to focus on building my brand internationally and digitally.
Over the course of 7 years I’ve been able to successfully build an empire that is shifting how the world sees sexuality. I’ve put in so many hours of study, practice, engagement, public speaking and writing all in the service of love in the name of sexuality. It’s been a bumpy road to pave, but I’ve carved out my own lane and cleared that bitch out. Now it’s time to experience ease.
The hardest part is over.
I have partners in life who are here to assist me with living my brand forward, and I have the tools to make it so. My willingness to tour domestically has fizzled because my sights are on bigger goals: Film making, international travel, breaking down barriers in repressed countries, advocating for a safer internet free of cyber sexual assault, book publishing. Thanks to YouTube, I have an international following. Now it’s time to go out into the world and connect with the people across the waters that have already been touched by my work online.
I came to this realization while analyzing why I was feeling so down last week. I decided to slow down and remember that I am in control of my life and the things I see. I manifested amazing things over these past 2 years, and I know this year is no different. It will take just as much work if not even more to accomplish all I want to do.
I’m writing this entry to encourage all of you to take your time and be patient and gentle with yourselves. We have a long year ahead of us, and everything we desire is executed better when we are sure of what we want and order our steps to fulfill the will God has already ordained for us (complete happiness). Everything I want and everything you want is waiting for us on the other side of pushing through our ego. Let fear go, let perception of lack go and realize your ability to create anything from the abundance of your mind.
You deserve everything and so do I.
Take your time and check in with yourself. Be honest about where you are right now and what you truly want to do with your life. You are the master of the world you see. Create the life you want to live one step at a time. ❤️❤️
I’m so glad my mom listened to this stuff when I was a kid

The most soulful white man of all time
2018 is the year of not settling. The year of not short selling myself.
I’m done settling for jobs, people and life situations that don’t align with my expectations.
No more settling for the bare minimum from anyone.
I hold myself to the highest standard and that will go for anyone else in my life as well. I’m only trying to be surrounded by greatness.
Start each year off with an empty jar, and fill it with notes of good things that happen. On new year's eve, empty it and see what awesome stuff happened that year.
This year has been full of ups and downs. Recently I had a really big down (I lost my job) but this year was a great up (I got married this year). It was easy for me to become depressed and forget about all the good things, but thanks to my spouse and memories of us getting married I should feel blessed and excited about 2018!
I always say I’m going to do this and I always fall through. I’m going to try and stick to it next year.
it’s the new year wave, i am cleansed and refreshed.
Damn @god you really outdid yourself on this day
Still one of my favorites 😂
