Trouble writing about impatient mental facilities?
I've been to (adolescent) mental facilities before! Hi!!
Voluntary admission means the patient gabe consent to be sent to the facility; involuntary means the patient did not give consent to be sent to the facility.
You have to go in the ambulance and you have to be on the stretcher, it's NOT comfortable.
There's a lot of signing paperwork when you get there, you have to change clothes sometimes, etc etc
Mental hospitals will have a schedule. They'll also have group therapy. Also you can contact family! Contacting is different depending on hospital. Whether thats a 10 minute phone call or a 3 hour visit.
Fuck. Have you gone to a mental hospital? Adolescent mental facilities are full of ill teenagers, there's a fuck ton of drama and fighting. If anything ever gets too out of control, fancy facilities have security. Otherwise nurses will do.
Food can be good or bad but it's constant. Everything you do is monitored though so if you want to go home then eat. Don't pick at your nails, don't even breakdown.
Beds are uncomfortable as hell. Also nurses check on you at night like every 2 seconds, it's hard to sleep. Also also. Ankle monitors. I don't know why the fancy facility had this, but that didn't stop the nurses from doing routine checks every 30 minutes.
You make friends and that's not good. You are ill. Everyone is ill. Speaking of, dating within facility is oddly common???? Don't do that.
You can NOT share personal info to other patients, you'll get in trouble. You can't touch other patients either, that's against the rules.
You see the doctor sometimes, the doctor chooses when you leave. Otherwise your insurance isn't paying a DIME.
Adjusting after leaving a facility is hard. REALLY HARD. Going from a place away from your issues with a schedule and then being dumped back into your problematic life is NOT a good feeling.
No devices. No strings. No laces. No pencils (??? Why). Nothing fun.
