wanted to make a post about armand’s hair getting longer over the season wrt vampire hair growing back to the same length every night. (and across seasons really bc that short hair in s1 as part of the rashid character getup…against short hair armand channeling arun in s3…..is kinda interesting to me) something something the visual representation of his self-control waning. something something sliding back from arun to armand. snapping like that in the finale. but my heart’s not in it

It's just crazy how from an actual Armand perspective his actions make sense because of course he's turning all this on Louis, the one person who never had any power to truly hurt him, but then Rolin Jones will stand up and look you dead in the eyes and say "yeah we just felt like Louis needed to be genuinely punished for his treatment of Armand" and I have no idea what the fuck to do with that

I'll be like well yes because Armand was attempting to recreate the dynamic of marimand with Louis in a way that never put him in harms way, and now that all those emotions are crashing down on him he's blaming it all on the Fake Marius because Real Marius still has the power to hurt him! and then Rolin Jones will go "No. Louis deserved what happened to him" and suddenly all I can think about is whether we need to bring back the guillotine

So many scenes in TVL are actually incredible and if you kind of view them in isolation without context it's great tv, but it's the surrounding plot around those great scenes that don't make sense to me. It feels like sometimes we're just plopped from scene to scene which have no effect on the story and also zero build up or explanations of why something is happening. Just snapshots of good writing joined together in a disjointed and horribly paced way.

I was convinced they would end the season with akasha waking up not just because that’s how The Book ends but also because it felt like the closest thing to a narrative thread for the season. like okay we’re focusing on the present, it’s all building toward thee concert, the great conversion is a thing that lestat is spurring and is ostensibly what unifies the character motivations for armand and gabriella and raglan + the talamasca. so like yeah if there was anything to anything it did feel like that was gonna be how they tied together this all-over-the-place season

instead we got. that. which is yet another case of the most frustrating thing about this season. all the building blocks of a plot are right there for the writers to assemble however they please. like sure change the characters change the story bring the past into the present spend copious amounts of time on The Band and Rockstar Lestat but!! if ur gonna do all that it has to mean something. ideally in the season that you are wrapping up

I’ll always love Daniel for many reasons but I have to say that his decision to stay by Armand’s side after having heard what he’s capable of and what his love entails is by FAR my favorite thing about him. He saw this terrifying creature proclaiming his love for him, telling him he was stalked for half a century and instead of being freaked out he got greedy. There’s a pull towards darkness, especially Armand’s, in Daniel that is intoxicating to watch. He heard what happened to Louis and Lestat, and when Armand redirected his gaze onto him he didn’t run, he thought finally.

Just look at the way he was already so proud to show his sunburn to Louis and Lestat, saying he’s been “seeing someone” knowing damn well that those two finding out about him and Armand could have endangered their mission. And a lot of it comes from his being a selfish and prideful being who is realizing what an advantage the love of an ancient vampire is. He hasn’t accepted this love yet but he’s already parading it around. No more “Are you companions?” “Yes” “No” or “Does he know about us?” “What is us?”, Daniel will be calling them companions before Armand even gets a chance to say love again.

People saying "why would Armand, the sex trafficking victim, post revenge porn" are making the incredibly big assumption that Armand understands the impact any of that has had on him

Personally I think going straight to using the abuse as a weapon is very consistent for Armand. But what do I know.
