These looks like stills from a movie that I would very much be interested in watching.

Oh but it is!! These lovely screen shots are from Neko Samurai!!
Basically Dog-Gang hires dude above (Kyutaro) to kill Cat-Gang’s beloved Cat but the cat is too cute to kill and Kyutaro “accidentally” catnaps the cat and angers both gangs. It’s a wild ride.
HORRIBLE
Every Frame a Painting is officially dead. Nothing sinister; we just decided to end it. The following is the script for what was supposed to be the final episode, voiced by both Taylor and myself. We were never able to make it. But we think it may be useful to some of you making your own work on the Internet, so we’re publishing it here.
Fundraising to finish CalArts!
Hey everyone i’m Cindy! I’m currently a 3rd year student at CalArts Character Animation. As you may know the tuition is crazy expensive, so recently I started a fundraising in order to be able to finish CalArts. Animation has always been my passion, and I would love to learn more at this school if I can… Here are the films I made during the past couple of years: 1st year film: https://vimeo.com/163110999 2nd year film: https://vimeo.com/214428496 I’m currently working on my 3rd year film and I’m really excited to share it with you guys once it’s finished! And I would love to make a graduation film as well… if I can. That’s why I started this fundraising! BUT I’m not asking for help with nothing in return – I have prepared all kinds of cool stuff you can buy to show my gratitude! The main product of this fundraising is a Taiwan sketches collection book. This summer I went back home and did 100 drawings of my experiences in Taiwan and decided to print them into a book! Here are some previews of the sketches:
……and 96 pages more all like this!! And the book will be 14x14 cm big:
Beside the book, I also prepared a lot of other cool stuff such as:
But since I’m not an American, I can’t use kickstarter, so I’m using a Taiwan fundraising platform. If you are interested and want to buy my book (This is an exclusive, limited time offer!) ,here’s the website link, which is in Chinese: https://www.zeczec.com/projects/taiwansketchartbook If you cannot understand, don’t worry! I’ll guide you through the purchase process, step by step. Open the page and follow my instruction:
First, you’ll see a video and a ton of stuff words and pictures on the left.
Well, it’s basically what I just said on top! So let’s keep moving to the right.
You’ll see a couple of boxes with prices on them. THEY LOOK SO EXPENSIVE WTF?! Don’t panic! It’s in TAIWAN DOLLARS!
Each box is a set of merchandise you just saw on top, let me break it down for you:
So after you clicked on the set you want, you’ll be redirected to a page like this:
Just sign in with facebook! Super easy!!
After that, you’re all set to make a payment:
Unfortunately the website only accepts credit card. If you don’t have one please email me at [email protected] and I’ll try to sort things out for you!
For those who own a credit card, please remember to add the shipping fee of $250 Taiwan dollars!!
After you have clicked continue, it will redirect you to the payment page: (Hang on! you’re almost there! )
After all this hard work… you did it!! Thank you so much for reading and I really hope this fundraising can succeed. There’s only 23 days left and I’m still at 63%… if I don’t make the goal I get nothing in the end ;_; I really love making art. I hope that I can stay for my 4th year and even - possibly work in the industry in the near future. Thank you again! For those of you who managed to read this far, here’s another gif of me eating and doing laundry! Take care everyone!
……and more art that’s yet to come. please share if you like what I’m doing!! Thanks :D!!! * After you signed in to the websiite you’ll receive a confirmation email, but don’t worry about that!
My friend Cindy is an incredibly hardworking and talented artist! Please consider supporting her because she deserves the world!!

22 #storybasics I've picked up in my time at Pixar
I tweeted these forever ago, but the internet just noticed and I figure I should probably at least put them on my blog. I’m glad people are finding them useful.
Here they are, a mix of things learned from directors & coworkers at Pixar, listening to writers & directors talk about their craft, and via trial and error in the making of my own films.
#1: You admire a character for trying more than for their successes.
#2: You gotta keep in mind what’s interesting to you as an audience, not what’s fun to do as a writer. They can be v. different.
#3: Trying for theme is important, but you won’t see what the story is actually about til you’re at the end of it. Now rewrite.
#4: Once upon a time there was ___. Every day, ___. One day ___. Because of that, ___. Because of that, ___. Until finally ___.
#5: Simplify. Focus. Combine characters. Hop over detours. You’ll feel like you’re losing valuable stuff but it sets you free.
#6: What is your character good at, comfortable with? Throw the polar opposite at them. Challenge them. How do they deal?
#7: Come up with your ending before you figure out your middle. Seriously. Endings are hard, get yours working up front.
#8: Finish your story, let go even if it’s not perfect. In an ideal world you have both, but move on. Do better next time.
#9: When you’re stuck, make a list of what WOULDN’T happen next. Lots of times the material to get you unstuck will show up.
#10: Pull apart the stories you like. What you like in them is a part of you; you’ve got to recognize it before you can use it.
#11: Putting it on paper lets you start fixing it. If it stays in your head, a perfect idea, you’ll never share it with anyone.
#12: Discount the 1st thing that comes to mind. And the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th – get the obvious out of the way. Surprise yourself.
#13: Give your characters opinions. Passive/malleable might seem likable to you as you write, but it’s poison to the audience.
#14: Why must you tell THIS story? What’s the belief burning within you that your story feeds off of? That’s the heart of it.
#15: If you were your character, in this situation, how would you feel? Honesty lends credibility to unbelievable situations.
#16: What are the stakes? Give us reason to root for the character. What happens if they don’t succeed? Stack the odds against.
#17: No work is ever wasted. If it’s not working, let go and move on - it’ll come back around to be useful later.
#18: You have to know yourself: the difference between doing your best & fussing. Story is testing, not refining.
#19: Coincidences to get characters into trouble are great; coincidences to get them out of it are cheating.
#20: Exercise: take the building blocks of a movie you dislike. How d'you rearrange them into what you DO like?
#21: You gotta identify with your situation/characters, can’t just write ‘cool’. What would make YOU act that way?
#22: What’s the essence of your story? Most economical telling of it? If you know that, you can build out from there.
You can find more stuff I talk about on twitter as @lawnrocket - film and storytelling mostly. I try to keep the what-I-ate-for-lunch posts to a minimum.

I dont want no context for this
Working as a revisionist on OK K.O.!: Let’s be Heroes has been a really interesting experience, and I wanted to take a bit of time to explain what my role has been since it feels somewhat unique even among other CN productions.
The role of a revisionist is typically a final layer of polish to the finished storyboards by addressing situational changes like making sure characters are on model, correcting staging/screen direction, drawing in backgrounds, adding additional breakdown poses and doing whatever we can to translate the boards in the clearest way for next stage of the pipeline (animation & design). The storyboard supervisor, Jeremy Polgar (http://jpolgar1.tumblr.com/), will usually go through each episode adding pink notes that Anna Craig (http://killapede.tumblr.com/) and myself will divide between ourselves and spend the next week addressing. Because the board artists are so talented, and because Ian and Toby embrace the rough edges and inconsistencies of animation, the demand for meticulous revision work isn’t as high and occasionally leaves us opportunities to push the action/animation in the show. This first episode was the first time I really took advantage of that freedom to restage and key out a few scenes in this imagined fight scene between KO and Darrell.
This episode was exciting because it set a precedent for what revisions could get away with and as everyone developed more confidence in their roles it became easier to take advantage of that freedom. I’ve absorbed a lot working on this show, and I’m continuing to grow from the experience so please stay tuned because it only gets better from here !
