I took a First Aid class in Australia recently. The instructor told us Steve Irwin dies not from the stingray poke itself, but from bleeding out when they pulled the tail out of his chest. First time I heard this story. First Aid lesson that day was if you are stabbed, leave the thingy in and secure it from moving, until proper help arrives. Dunno if this is 100% medically accurate. It dawned on me after watching this: this is what I think of what nuclear radiation can do - not just huge, with the unique awesome breath weapon, but effing ugly, craggy, creepyscary, MUTATED. It kind of puts a lot after 1954 in a different perspective for me now. Like Toho went back and rethought ‘authentic’ and the effects of radiation. Maybe I missed something.
