joe biden, i was a bernie voter. here’s how to get my vote

understandably, im a lil bummed out over bernie putting an end to the campaign side of his presidency run (he is remaining on ballots, just suspending the campaign, i’ll still vote for him by paper ballot when the time comes). in the unfortunate event that joe biden becomes the presidential nominee, he will have to earn my vote. i am a single issue voter and that issue is this: he must release the available footage of the lost 1972 jerry lewis film “the day the clown cried” via free internet stream, breaking the agreement with the jerry lewis estate and the library of congress, prior to the 2020 election.

now i know what you’re thinking: why? but the answer is simple: there may be no other way for me, the average joe on the street, to ever see this movie. perhaps you are not familiar with this movie, which harry shearer called “a perfect object” because it was “drastically wrong”. the script, from the start, was identified by many other stars as horrifying and they passed on the opportunity but lewis took the plunge and starred in a movie about circus clowns, nazis, children and the holocaust. jerry lewis. the “nutty professor” guy.

curiously, the film may have crossed a threshold to where it is no longer in such horrific taste as it may have been in 1972. many have pointed out that “life is beautiful” collected a pocketful of oscars and critical acclaim for a similar premise. yet, we will never know the truth behind a movie which, up until this point has only been mythologized for its legendary badness and the gaping wound it has left in the bad movie landscape.
