Ok, I finished Oathbound and I think I need a couple of days to do a review BUT

I was sitting here thinking how well Tracy wrote Sel haunting the narrative throughout the story. Like, after the whole shabang at the end we finally realize that he was always THERE.

The time Bree and Nick were together in capital 1 HE WAS THERE TOO. AGHH I JUST LOVE THE THREE OF THEM AND WANT THEM TO BE HAPPY.

My favorite part about Avatar The Way of Water was definitely the relationship and family dynamics. If the whole movie was just about Jake and his family adapting to the Metkayani Clan and their way of life. I wouldn’t complain I loved the scenes where it showed how they acted a family unit. Espically the beginning!!

The progression of Lo’aks and Tsireya’s relationship was so beautiful! They managed to show how tender they were with each other in a age appropriate way without having to rush their relationship in any way. I found myself smiling every time they were on my screen.

I see many people joking about Jake being a military father but I think many of you missed the point at the beginning of the movie where Jake was a super loving and caring father and how he only turned into the cliche military father towards his sons when the planet was attacked once more and he had to move to the mountains and had to fight against the humans again

He wanted to be a father of peace, until the humans forced him to be a man of the military, a man of war again

I think the reason it’s so hard for me to accept Neteyam’s death is because I feel like we were robbed of having more time to bond with him. The reason I latched onto him was more so because I could relate to his role of being the “older sibling” rather than connections made through screen time. To me this is really unfortunate because, the movie comes full circle starting with his birth and ending with his death. Neteyam’s life was the example of “the way of water” so why wasn’t he at a forefront of this movie more? I felt like there were times throughout the movie where they could of gave him his own arc like they did with Kiri and Lo’ak. OTHER THAN HIM HAVING TO SAVE LO’AKS ASS EVERY FIVE SECONDS!!!

If they were going to bring him back it should be revealed by the end of AVT3 so, the characters have time to go through their development as a result of their grieving. It would also do the job of not eliminating the trauma that was the funeral and the characters would have the ability to grow from their experience. In the end, whatever war that would have happened has happened which would mean that his death has served its purpose :)))))

I don’t ever want to hear about Jake being the savior of Avatar 2. Tuh! Not when Neytiri took out an entire ship almost by herself, not when she ain’t miss not one damn shot the entire movie. In this movie and the first she was the main one shooting bitches outta the sky!!!! It’s not like she had unlimited arrows either so, that meant she shot you in yo mf chest and took that shit right back out to kill your friend wit!!!! If I was Spider I would’ve jumped ship cuz she wasn’t gonna catch me 😰
