Jesus Christ how could such a bitter ass woman raise such an adorable and kind dude. Good for him and his brother turning out like true bad asses.
I am always the cause of my own self destruction.
do you ever get in those moods where you don’t feel like reading and you don’t feel like being on the internet and you don’t feel like watching a show and you don’t feel like sleeping and you don’t feel like existing in general
19 days I have slept curled around where you would have grown.
Every night I sleep with my hand over my womb, hoping to feel you there even though I know you are gone. I dream of all of you, what you would have looked like, how you would have laughed, smiled, cried… How I would have held you.
I wonder what you’d have been like. What all of you would have been like.
Every second of every day I wonder what horrible thing have I done to deserve not being able to raise my son, and every day I get no answers. Every moment I wish I was blessed enough to experience the sleepless nights, first steps, homework, and being able to watch him grow into the man I know he would’ve been. I hate that the phrase “wait until you have kids” burns a hole into my soul and I just want to scream to the top of my lungs “If only you knew!!!” But, I can’t. I have to go everyday proclaiming normality as if I’m not really going through pure hell 24/7. I smile, laugh, and act as if I wasn’t just balling my eyes out the night before. I finally understood what it felt like to be a mother, the love that awoken with it, only for it to be taken away so quickly. I held him in my arms and told him everything would be okay, and he believed me. Even though he couldn’t tell me, I knew that he loved me, and I wanted to give him everything.
F&%K!!! WHY!!!
There is no f&%king normal.
Your child died!
Scream, cry, wail and be horrified at the
injustice of it all.
Feel it all. Feel everything.
Your life is broken and will
never be the same.
But NO!!
Culturally this society doesn’t allow
you to feel.
“Move on; celebrate their life.”
Be proud of holding it together and
not breaking down.
F&%K That!!!
Why does society make it this way?
Why am I so different?
Why do I wail at the horribleness of
a death out of order?
I want to scream to the world.
STOP!!!!
Someone’s child has died.
Their world has stopped.
The world is at a crawl now.
Say yes to the pain,
say yes to the grief,
say yes to the anger,
say yes to the unraveling.
Let it break you apart,
crack you open,
tear you down so you are unrecognizable.
It should, your child died!!

Tell people when they say hurtful words.
Teach them.
Don’t numb out because when the love
comes you cannot be transformed or even feel it.
In order to feel the love,
you have to reach the darkest depths of your soul.
Sometimes I'm ok and will happily speak to my pregnant friends about their babies and go shopping for gifts for them and all that good stuff
Other times I have to scroll past baby and pregnancy things on social media really fast because it just reminds me about what happened and what could have happened
Grief isn't linear and that's okay. I'm not weak for breaking down, I'm not bitter or selfish for finding baby posts frustrating and painful
“There is no right way to grieve, and you have to let people grieve in the way that they can. One of the things that happens to everyone who is grief-stricken, who has lost someone, is there comes a time when everyone else just wants you to get over it, but of course you don’t get over it. You get stronger; you try and live on; you endure; you change; but you don’t get over it. You carry it with you.”
— Edward Hirsch

Let's get real for a second
Being a single mom is hard. Like really hard.
Everything is on me, from things as small as cooking dinner to things as big as potty training. Every single day, every single minute I hear the constant whines, cries, laughter, and “mommy’s” I don’t know what silence is. I don’t know what it means to sit down and watch a 30 minute TV episode.
My house often goes unclean. Sometimes we eat Easy Mac for dinner. I usually go 3 days between showers.
New clothes, the cost of daycare, anything from Tylenol to toys to diapers is all paid for by me.
And the kicker? Society looks at single moms like WE’RE the ones that failed, that we couldn’t keep our legs closed, or we did something to make our man run away. But what society doesn’t see is the millions of articles I read to be a better mom, the time I’m taking off work so I can be at my son’s school party, or that I’m stretching myself thin to give my son everything he wants.
Single moms are by far the strongest beings on this entire planet and I think we deserve a little more recognition than we receive.
if you’re reading this, it’s a sign that the thing you’re anxious about will go well. take a deep breath and trust yourself.
