I cannot emphasize enough how exactly accurate this is to working in production
i love writing out numbers and then putting them in parentheses like "one (1)" even when i dont need to i think its funny
seeing trans women out in public is like warm sunlight washing over me it genuinely brightens my mood
Hey, you, cis girl that's very (correctly) vocal about women being allowed to talk about their periods, do you include trans women in that?
I ask because every single time I've tried to talk about it to anyone that isn't a trans woman they get fucking angry. Which has caused me to have to just suffer in silence every single month. So I really relate to cis women when they talk about literally the exact same thing; being shamed by everyone around them their whole lives for talking about their periods, so they just suffer in silence every month as it negatively impacts their work and social lives. But I don't even feel like I can voice that I am literally dealing with the same exact thing because most of y'all react like you want to throw me in front of a bus for saying it, even those of you who act like your such big great transfem allies.
I guess I'll take this opportunity to talk about trans women periods. The first thing any tme person thinks when they hear this is always "how can trans women have periods? They don't have uteruses!"
The answer is: the uterus isn't what causes your period, it is effected by your period. What causes your period and what causes trans women's periods is the same thing: the endocrine system.
HRT changes the sex of your endocrine system. Feminizing HRT makes it a female endocrine system, giving us a 28-day hormone cycle just like cis women. At the end of that cycle, the hypothalamus floods the body with prostaglandins. Those are what cause all but one of the period symptoms, because they make muscles inflame and contract. They are what make the uterus shed its lining, they are what cause intestinal cramps, they are what cause body aches, they are what cause headaches and migraines. The only period symptom not causes by the release of prostaglandins throughout the body is depression, and that is caused by your endocrine system simply not processing as much estrogen and from simply feeling like shit.
So, the only symptoms trans women don't get every 28 days is menstrual cramps, because yes we do not menstruate since we don't have uteruses. But migraines, depression, body aches, intestinal cramps, and the infamous "period shits" don't exactly add up to us having any better of a time. Except we have to pretend that we're fine and nothing is different because no one believes that we get periods, not even cis women.
"But you can't call it a period then because that refers to MENSTRUATION!" is another one I hear all the time. This is incorrect. You use the word "period" instead of just "menstruation" because it doesn't just refer to menstruation. It refers to a period at the end of the hormone cycle where we experience a host of symptoms. And not all cis women experience all of the symptoms that encompass the period. Not all cis women get migraines, or body aches, or have severe depression. If a cis woman gets a hysterectomy she doesn't menstruate either! In that instance she experiences an identical period to what trans women experience. Yet, I doubt you'd insist that cis women who've had hysterectomies don't have periods.
Oh, another thing that I personally discovered after bottom surgery: vaginal odor changes for trans women during our periods too. I was not expecting that because I always thought it was just from menstruation. But nope, the ph levels of a trans woman's vagina are the same of as a cis woman's vagina, and it changes during our periods just the same.

Genuine question: is it possible for trans women to get endometriosis without a uterus? Because the whole Thing about endo is your body putting menses in Not The Uterus and that's SUPER bad for you and your insides.
Tbh this is probably one of those things that's just gone utterly unstudied because lol who even studies endo in people who *do* have uteri.
I ask because if it's possible, 1) I am so sorry and 2) this is a reason a trans woman might need hormonal birth control in addition to HRT. Because birth control prevents the formation of menses and is a literal lifesaver in terms of keeping your body from fucking itself up. My own endo is probably what screwed up my kidneys and bladder, for instance.
Even if it's not possible, periods suck and I'm sorry you ladies go through it too. Only things I can personally suggest are painkillers, heating pads, chocolate, and reminding yourself that your hormones and brain are just being jerks.
I would honesly be shocked if trans women were somehow immune to endometriosis. Especially since it's not even just on other parts of the uterus that endomitrisis causes the tissue to grow, but also on the bladder, the bowls, and the pelvic wall.
I don't know of any cases, but I feel very confident that they're out there but go undiagnosed because doctor's refuse to treat us as if we have anything but "male bodies."

it's really funny that the usa is tearing apart its own science medical and education systems while its enemies are exceeding in those areas. all the studies i would cite from the university of tehran in college were 100x better than usamerican ones

if theres one thing that really pissed me off from my 3 years of architecture i took in high school it's learning about how we used to have all these little techniques to maximize or minimize heat or warmth and now we just merrily abandoned all those to have the same copypaste style buildings everywhere that are often INCREDIBLY unoptimized to the local weather and climate so we can just throw more money at our heating and cooling bills

i talked in an old discord server yesterday but ive leveled up too much and my charisma stat is too high so i accidentally received three friend requests and had half a dozen users fawning over me. unfortunately high level hunting grounds are pretty hard to find at this point. you know how it is.
Regarding the pay gap, as a tme trans person who went through higher education, I have a thought. Let's think about the correlation between higher education and higher pay rates. This is purely anecdotal but it might be appreciated.
Amount of tme trans people in undergrad I knew of: A LOT
Amount of tma trans people in undergrad I knew of: One
Amount of tme trans people in grad school I knew of: Like, 2 or 3
Amount of tma trans people in grad school I knew of: Zero
don't have the stats on hand but I've heard this is reflected in the data. and it would make sense, not only because of the background radiation of transmisogyny everywhere, but also considering how popular "AFAB only housing" is in college towns, and how difficult it can be to room with TMEs even if you are permitted
this is anecdotal, but I roomed with two TMEs, and one blew up at his trans girlfriend over the phone, threw things, yelled about her being a lying bitch, and stormed out all while I was in the room, and the other told the RA I was sleeping naked because I sometimes wore spaghetti straps to bed and I guess they didn't spot the straps. never rooming with a TME again no matter how cool they seem on first impression tbh
there's also just garden variety not being able to afford college, in part because of said lower wages (vicious cycle!) and in part because some data suggests trans women are less supported by our families
this is another great illustration of how bad transmisogyny is and why we need transfeminism. cisgender men have male privilege, so they don't need systems that support them on the basis of sexgender. and these systems benefit every other sexgender class except trans women. we are left to bear the full brunt of transphobia and the full brunt of misogyny, to say nothing even of how the two intersect into a force even worse than the sum of its parts
a class of women who will not even be recognized as women when we need support to get through college, nor when we end up on the streets and need access to shelter. we are deliberately left to fall through the cracks of the sexgender binary system
it's almost funny. if you examined how the patriarchy treats us, it's more or less exactly that yes, they do treat us like women
but modern cisfeminism simply refuses to accept that about us. they refuse to accept us into womanhood, and thus refuse to fight with us.
and so, the patriarchy is given access to a class of women in which there is no source of pushback against the maltreatment of.
Will one sick day make everything better? No. Will it help? Sure
