want to piggyback off of this! i used to love reading your 9-1-1/BT theories and takes on twitter and i’m very happy you seem to have found joy in the HR fandom (especially with how exhausting the 9-1-1 fandom can be). all the best!
aw hey! i don’t use tumblr much nowadays so i only just saw this (a month late, my BIGGEST apologies!)
god i have so many 9-1-1 and bt takes in my phone notes that i never tweeted because at times i can get a bit Too into fandom things lmao and it was becoming all consuming
i do absolutely love the HR fandom, but i also engage way WAY less with the real lives of the actors so i defo found more peace there, tho im still in the 911 fandom on the dl, tbh i just don’t post about it much anymore! ur right that it can be exhausting, like everything was a fighting point and it was so tiring 😪
i’m SO so glad u liked it tho, that means a lot to me bc i don’t have a big following so it feels like talking into the void at times (which is fine, means i can be more unhinged) but it makes me really happy that u enjoyed them! <3
if u ever wanted to reach out and chat i promise ill keep an eye on my notifs from now on lol
Heyy Friend! I have nothing to ask, just wanted to share.
I have been going through your "Let me build a life with you" fic for the 5th time now AO3. I go through few chapters of it almost every single day and keep repeating.
It feels so beautiful, positive, warm and reassuring everytime I read it. It is one of my most favourite fics. ❤️
Just wanted to come by and say thank you ❤️
I have actually never been in a serious relationship. When love does find me, I want it to feel like that fic- warm and reassuring, like I said above.
I just can't stop smiling everytime I read it. My best wishes to you 😄🫶

In which Buck tells Tommy how Hen came to be his manager...
“They offered me a record deal.” He finally says, trying to suppress a smile.
Hen gasps and pulls him into a tight hug. He wraps his arms around her immediately and she rocks him side to side while squeezing even tighter.
“Buck!” She says as she pulls away, “That’s amazing!”
Buck can only nod in response, his own eyes becoming glassy. He feels the lump in his throat, the one he’d managed to suppress while still in the meeting, and now he can’t contain it. It feels like a second chance for him, after losing his career as a firefighter, this feels like the chance he’s been waiting for and working towards.
“Yeah, I can’t quite believe it yet,” He chokes out, “Although…” He trails off, looking at the side.
“Although?”
“Apparently, it’s unusual for someone to get to this point without a manager… They won’t sign me without one.”
Hen doesn’t say anything in response, and when Buck looks back at her, she has an odd look on her face. It’s something akin to pity with a mixture of curiosity. He doesn’t say anything and settles for watching her think. It only takes a minute before she meets his eyes again.
“What if I become your manager?”
Never Bloom Again - musician!buck x firefighter!Tommy snippet
have a cheeky sneak peak at the next chapter ;)
Evan, hi!” Buck turned to see Tommy walking towards him with a smile on his face. Contrary to what Buck was expecting, he’s not wearing his flight suit, instead wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans.
“You’re not on shift today?” Is what comes out of Buck’s mouth instead of a greeting. Tommy’s lips quirk at that and he comes to a stop next to Buck.
“Not today, didn’t want to risk having to go on a call mid-tour.” Tommy explained, “Nice to see you repping the LAFD today,” he says as he nods towards the logo on Buck’s jacket.
Buck glances down and chuckles, “It’s my old work jacket, I don’t get to wear it much anymore.”
Tommy raised an eyebrow at that and begins walking towards one of the helicopters, Buck quickly following.
“You used to be a firefighter?” Tommy sounded surprised as he asked.
Buck nodded in response; it’s been a while since he’s told someone his backstory. When asked in interviews what he did before music, he tries to keep it vague and talk about his time in Peru instead. It’s not that he doesn’t want to talk about his time as a firefighter, but it would reveal the workplace of his friends and risk their lives also becoming part of the public eye. Not to mention having to discuss the incident that forced him to retire. “So that ride along you had?…”
“Captain Nash sometimes lets me join them on minor calls if I need the inspiration,” Buck explained before quickly adding, “Don’t tell anyone, though.”
Tommy laughed softly, “Your secret is safe with me.”
Tommy doesn’t pry for more details about why Buck is no longer a firefighter. It can be a sensitive subject for some retired firefighters, especially if, like Buck, they’d been forced to retire following a career-ending injury. It was an unwritten rule to never ask unless the person offers the information themselves. What does surprise Buck, however, is that Tommy so far doesn’t seem to know who he is- neither his history as a firefighter nor his present as a musician.
Buck followed Tommy throughout each hanger, gripping onto every word he said. He showed Buck each helicopter and explained which helicopter is used for different types of calls, showed him the specialist equipment they have, and most importantly, where they keep their coffee.
It’s after they’ve explored all of Harbor station and the tour is basically over that they loop around and reach the helicopter where the tour started.
“This is the most fun I’ve had in a long time.” Buck admitted, walking the length of the helicopter.
The next chapter of Never Bloom Again is now up on AO3 (<- Click)
In which Buck goes out on a ride along with the 118 hoping to find inspiration for new music, but finds someone new instead...
Snippet below :)
As he waited, he watched as people walked past. It wasn’t too easy to do while also trying to keep his head down, and he’s sure he looked slightly creepy, appearing to leer at everyone who walked past from an outsider’s point of view. The hospital wasn’t too busy, and mostly it was just nurses or doctors walking past trying to get from room to room, the occasional patient, a paramedic from another house, and the man in a blue flight suit.
The blue flight suit.
Buck sat up straighter when he saw him. He walked up to the main desk with a clipboard in his hands, handing it to the woman behind the desk with a smile. Buck watched as he leant against the desk and pulled his phone out of his pocket, and before Buck even registered what he was doing, he was standing up and walking over to him.
“Hi.” Buck said when he finally reached the man in the blue flight suit, smiling brightly.
The man looked up at him with one eyebrow quirked and a polite smile on his face.
“Hi?” The man responded.
“Did you just come from the call with the injured hikers?”
“I did, are you family? I can go find a nurse, they’ll be able to tell you what room they’re in.” The man began moving away as he spoke, but Buck quickly placed a hand on his arm.
They stood for a moment looking at each other before Buck snatched his hand back, heat rising to his cheeks as the man quirked his eyebrow at him again.
“Sorry, sorry,” Buck said quickly, shoving his hands into his pockets to stop him from touching the man again, “I’m not family… Actually, I was on a ride along with the 118 to that call and I saw you getting out of the helicopter!”
The man smiles at that and leans back once again against the desk.
“I was the one flying it too.” The man replies, and, well, that piques Buck’s interest.
Chapters 1 and 2 of Never Bloom Again are now posted on AO3!
After retiring from the LAFD following a devastating leg injury, Evan Buckley isn’t sure what to do with his life. During his recovery, he turns to songwriting to kill the time and quickly rises to fame with his debut album. Once he returns from his American tour, he finds himself facing writer’s block and is desperately trying to find any inspiration. He returns to his roots at the 118 for secret ride-alongs hoping it will motivate him, but finds more than he expected in the form of one handsome firefighter pilot.
So I decided I'm going to post chapter 1 and 2 together as the first chapter serves mostly as a prologue. I've also set a date and schedule for when I'm going to be publishing the chapters on ao3!
To celebrate, have a sneak peak at chapter 2 :)
more under the cut
By the time he was finishing up the meal, the trucks had pulled back into the bay. He strolled over to the railing and watched as his former team jumped out of the truck and headed to hang up their gear. It was Ravi that noticed him first, smiling and giving him a wave before bounding towards the stairs.
Buck walked to meet him halfway, pulling him into a hug immediately. He kept up with his friends over text, of course, but he missed seeing them in person. They all had busy, and now often differing, schedules which made it hard to have any dedicated time to see each other, another reason why Buck enjoyed spending time at the station.
Ravi gripped him tightly before pulling back and clapping him on the shoulder.
“Hey man, I was wondering when you’d come around again. Miss us while you were jetting across the country?” Ravi teased, walking around Buck and heading towards the kitchen counter, “This for us?”
“Nah, it’s for the other team I came to cook for.” Buck deadpanned, although Ravi was already pulling a plate and serving up some food for himself.
“Hey now, save some for the rest of us, Probie.” Chimney joked as he appeared on the balcony, smiling and also bringing Buck in for a hug, followed quickly by Eddie.
It was nice being here again, like one of the team, as if nothing had changed. Of course, Hen wasn’t here, she was too busy making sure his career continued and flourished. He’d have to drag her along the next time he visited the station.
“Hey Buck, nice of you to come cook for us.” Bobby said warmly as he finally reached the kitchen.
Buck smiled back at him as he spoke. “Of course, Cap, anything for my favourite team!”
Bobby’s eyes narrowed slightly at Buck’s grin. Maybe he should stop looking so expectant if he’s trying to be discrete. Before Buck can say anything more, Bobby interrupts.
“We’ll see what comes in, I’m not making any promises.” He spoke with a soft sternness and kept the smile on his face.

May I introduce you to my current multi-chapter wip Never Bloom Again, featuring Musician!Buck x Firefighter!Tommy:
After retiring from the LAFD following a devastating leg injury, Evan Buckley isn’t sure what to do with his life. During his recovery, he turns to songwriting to kill the time and quickly rises to fame with his debut album. Once he returns from his American tour, he finds himself facing writer’s block and is desperately trying to find any inspiration. This will come to AO3 sometime sooooon, but until then enjoy this lil sneak peak (more under the cut). If y'all like it, I might release more snippets and sneak peaks in the future 👀
Ironically, it would be easier if he had gone through a few more near-death experiences since his last album as it might’ve provided him with some of those hurt and sorrowful emotions that penetrated his lyrics, but Buck wasn’t about to go looking for trouble just so he could write a new song.
Walking into his house, he looked upon his bay window. A deep-set, built-in seat that overlooked his small garden, and it had become his favourite spot for writing new songs. His guitar was resting against the wall, and crumpled balls of paper sat on the seat and the floor. He didn’t like discarding lyrics like that, he preferred to hold onto them in case they ever called to him again, but recently he’d been feeling so frustrated with himself. He found himself writing new lyrics to melodies he’d already written, or getting four lines into a verse and being unable to think further.
As much as he wanted to head straight back to bed, he couldn’t leave his writing spot like this. He walked forward and picked up the guitar, placing it back into its stand that stood to the right of the window, and bent down to pick up all the balls of paper. It wasn’t the first day he had come home to crumpled up lyrics, and Buck was sure it wouldn’t be the last either.
He just needed to find something new in his life. Whatever that may be.
It's short but sweet, I wouldn't want to spoil the story 😉.

Bucktommy engagement in a Christmas episode, because it would be the most romcom shit ever, and it would be a nice callback to the conversation Buck had with Bobby when he asked him what he gave Athena for their first Christmas together.
Buck is sitting there, just hard stuck on what to get Tommy for christmas, because despite Tommy having all of these varying hobbies, he already owns everything.
Buck can’t go to Bobby for advice anymore, so he thinks “what would Bobby do?” instead, and remembers: Bobby gave Athena an engagement ring for their first christmas together.
Maybe he talks to Athena about it, to see her side of it as the one who received the surprise christmas proposal. After all, he can’t very well talk to Tommy about it.
Is it an absolutely crazy idea? For sure. But it worked for Bobby and Athena, so why not them? Bobby’s advice has never (usually) failed him before.
