So while I don’t think it was intentional at all, in a weird way, Eddie not showing up significantly in this episode is really perfect for him.
The entire episode was about people confronting their traumas head on - Karen about Eva, Harry (and the rest of the family, and Lou at the end) over his kidnapping, Chim, indirectly Maddie. They see their ghosts and face it, or start facing it, and none of them are necessarily healed from their traumas but they’ve taken that step of taking a beat, acknowledging things, and moving forward on their way to recovery.
Which like. Eddie hasn’t done at all despite his….literally everything. He’s not ready to acknowledge it beyond saying it’s happened, and it’s definitely a overarching arc with him. And with all the last minute changes I’m certainly not going to say it’s intentional but it is SO fitting that in an episode of people becoming ready to confront/talk about their trauma that Eddie is barely in it.
