This is.....niche. Do period-appropriate chickens even still exist? Idk anything about chickens. I like the fancy ones.
Oh, I was just reading about that last night! One resource you can check is the American Poultry Association- it has records of the history of breeds, and especially when those breeds were officially admitted to/recognized by the APA. For instance, the Barred Rock is a breed that was officially recognized in 1874, having been bred from the Dominique, a much older heritage breed.
Reminds me a bit of this
You never know what's going to break people's immersion, depending on their knowledge and expertise and hyperfixations.
please remember that a ceasefire has not been reached yet and that israel's attacks have actually recently ramped up. people are also still being starved. combat this by donating to gaza soup kitchen
jokes that will literally never not be funny to me:
saying “speedrun strats” every time you fuck up
saying “first try” when you’ve tried the thing like 15 times, minimum
saying “skill issue” when something is 100% outside of anyone’s control
in World War 1 around 8 million horses died but in World War 2 it was under a million which can only mean horses started to evolve bullet resistance

Employers hiring migrant workers through a federal program must provide food or cooking facilities. But many of those picking our fresh food
On an August afternoon, Pablo stared down at a foam plate sloshing with flavorless pinto beans and a particularly bad version of huevos a la Mexicana. The simple, usually delicious scramble of eggs, tomatoes, onions and jalapeños is difficult to mess up. But if anyone can find a way to make it unpalatable, it’s the cook at his labor camp. Soupy eggs are the last thing the 42-year-old from western Mexico wants to eat. But after a 12-hour day harvesting tobacco in the brutal and sometimes deadly summer heat, he must eat – and this was far from the worst meal he’s been given. A few weeks ago, fellow farm workers got sick due to raw and moldy food they were forced to purchase. On days like this, Pablo can’t decide which is worse: that he’s forced to pay $80 a week for this slop, or that everything about what he eats, when he eats and how much he eats is tightly controlled by his employer. Pablo, who is using a pseudonym due to fear of retaliation, is one of more than 35,000 migrant workers in North Carolina this year as part of the H-2A Temporary Agricultural Worker Program, a guest visa program overseen by the US Department of Labor (DoL). The program enables American employers to hire foreign workers to perform seasonal agricultural work. Employers in the program frequently exploit their migrant employees, and the structure of the program makes easy work of it. Visas are tied to a single employer who must also provide housing, transportation and access to food, creating a crushing power imbalance between American employers and migrant H-2A workers.
Is it cold where you live right now?
Yes, very cold
Yes, a bit
No
Right now it's very cold in Gaza, and people don't have the means to protect themselves from it properly. @aburakhiaibrahim is one of such Palestinians, living in a tent that isn't appropiate to protect him and his family. They are also facing starvation, and don't have access to water and medicine. They've been fundraising for a very long time, but their campaign is moving very slowly, so far only raising $8,180/$30,000 CAD. So please, share the campaign, and donate to it if you can. Ibrahim and his family need our help, and even the smallest contribution can make a big difference

"You know what’s annoying me about this kid who killed this CEO? None of these news programs are talking about the incredible lack of empathy from the general public about this because of how these insurance companies treat people when they at their most vulnerable. After we’ve all given them our money every fucking month, and now we finally need you and all you do is deny us; and then these pussies and all of these things are taking the pictures of their CEOs off their websites.
You know, I gotta be honest with you, OK? I love that fucking CEOs are fucking afraid right now. You should be! By and large, you’re all a bunch of selfish greedy fucking pieces of shit; and a lot of you are mass murderers. You just don’t pull the trigger. That’s why it looks clean. That’s why these people look — 'Oh my god, he was just, you know walking into a hotel.' It’s like, OK, well what was his job? What did he do? What was the results of it?"
