i keep thinking about that tribe of baboons where all the alpha males died from eating poison garbage and then the baby boy monkeys were taken care of by the lady monkeys and never got socialized to be aggressive so they all just live peacefully and groom eachother instead of fighting and killing eachother and its been generations of that, it only took 1 wipeout of the aggressive males to change the whole social order of the species i am crying they must be so much happier

You’re missing half the story. When adolescent males from other groups came to join, they learned very rapidly that being an arsehole baboon was not fucking tolerated, and completely stopped the behaviour and integrated with the group.

Arseholes only thrive when you let them.

Only the aggressive males died; the non-aggressive ones didn’t go on garbage dump raids and so they survived just fine. This was about half the adult males in the troop. The suddenly-without-mean-competition males didn’t get aggressive and take over and start being giant jerks; they stayed the same pleasant baboons they had always been.

The researcher studying this troop was asked what he had learned about stopping violence in society and he said “Kill all the aggressive young males” and I think about that a lot.

The Krusty Krab Conspiracy

Okay so you know how on The Krusty Krab there are flags on the front

Right, so I remembered the other day that there is a Maritime Flag Language for sailors, and each flag has a different meaning, but when put together, they spell out a word. I have decided to figure out what it says.

Mkay so here’s the thing this center flag 

does not exist so I can only assume that they are trying to mimic the first flag on the list? Also, the 4th one appears to be upside-down.

But what it says (if you assume it’s the first one) is Romeo-India-Alpha-Uniform-Kilo or RIAUK which, from detailed internet research, only seems to be a 43-year-old woman on a dating website I’ve never heard of. Since that is not a word, I am going to investigate into the ICS (International Code of Signal) flag meanings using Wikipedia. 

So according to Wiki, it says

(Kay so Romeo doesn’t have an ICS meaning so we are off to a great start)-                                                                                                                     “I am altering my course to port.”-                                                                    “I have a diver down; keep well clear at slow speed.” -                                 “You are running into danger.”-                                                                         “I wish to communicate with you.”

So what we can gather from this is that the creators/artist for the classic series Spongebob Squarepants have absolutely no idea what the Maritime Flag Language is.

Oklahoma City Police Fatally Shoot Deaf Man Despite Yells Of 'He Can't Hear'

The police department's spokesperson said he didn't know whether officers heard witnesses yelling that the man was deaf and couldn't hear the officers' commands.

Things to remember about the victim in this shooting:

- he was Hispanic

- he was seen trying to sign at the officers to explain what was going on

- he had no criminal record whatsoever

- neighbors reported that he always carried the “weapon” police felt threatened by, a pipe, because of the stray dogs in the area

- he showed no sign of understanding the officers’ verbal warnings not to get any closer, and it’s likely that he was advancing in order to read their lips

- he is the 712th death in police shootings this year alone
