some speculative Backrooms ramblings;
If they do sequels for the Backrooms I think the best way forward is to make it an anthology series with different characters each time, maybe that scientist guy Phil can be the one recurring character and maybe we get small hints about what happened to the previous characters but nothing more than that.
I was thinking about if animals could be copied by the backrooms and I think its safe to say that the backrooms are restricted to human-built structures, particularly interiors. A tree growing in the middle of the forest somewhere won't have a copy in the backrooms but a houseplant might. Likewise, a wild animal somewhere would be off limits but pets like cats and dogs might appear as distorted still lives. Maybe vermin too, like rats and cockroaches. This would certainly appeal to me but focusing too much on the creature feature aspect of it might take away from what makes the backrooms unique. Still would be cool to see a really fucked up dog though.
Also we see that Clark wanted to stay in the backrooms, I wonder what someone who has been voluntarily living in the backrooms for years would be like. Maybe they're escaping guilt and/or responsibility in the real world, and the tradeoff is living in this simulacrum that frees them from their normal life but doesn't offer any kind of meaningful existence. Backrooms living full time probably involves a lot of scavenging; their original clothes are probably long since tattered and sweaty and gross, so maybe they just change into replicated clothing whenever its laundry day. Maybe their body has gotten so used to eating still life meat (stuffing? whatever you call it) that normal food would make them sick. IDK if any of this would make for a compelling movie, just fun speculation so far

Titania done with oil pastels.
Torosaurus latus
A large ceratopsian dinosaur from late Cretaceous North America. A close relative of Triceratops with many arguing they were the same animal at one point. The holes in the frill that lightened the skull are enough of a difference to differentiate the genus.
It’s the way we’re wired.
Backrooms
the backrooms... 2!
A little different than my usual art but the backrooms has gotten under my skin, in my brain, my soul.
