USA hockey is banning trans people from playing in anything but the team that aligns with AGAB, and because of anti doping rules any trans man on hormones is now banned completely from playing the sport.

Wish I could say I'm surprised :/ It's severely under discussed, how anti-doping rules have been weaponized against transmasc athletes to block them from competing at all.

Largely I think because, besides the general transmasc erasure, it's very much not how people think transphobia against transmascs to work. There's an assumption that transmascs = seen as helpless little girls = they can't compete with cis men because they can't handle it. Which like, transmascs do experience that, but the actual exclusion comes from rules like these, which paint transmascs as (let me know if y'all have heard this before) dangerous deceptive steroid users who's HRT gives them an unfair advantage over both cis men and cis women. But to acknowledge that this has been happening would require acknowledging that anti-transmasclinity is even slightly more complicated than the most 1 + 1 Baby's First Feminism understanding of how gender roles work. And we simply can't ask people to do that, they might die!
