can we end this studyblr ideal that you should be eating fruit for every snack and revising on the bus and studying whilst you walk and learning whilst you eat lunch and staying home at weekends and using every single minute of the day to be productive ??? like ??? no !! eat that chocolate that you’ve been keeping in your kitchen !! listen to your favourite song whilst on the bus !! play games on your phone at lunch time !! meet your friends and have a hella fun adventure !! its obviously okay and good to have a balance between your chill time and your study time but please for the love of god do not let studying take over your life. studying is great and its awesome and you should definitely work hard but you need to remember that your life needs to be lived
*drinks tons of coffee and calls it studying*
studying mood: panic! at the desk-o
Reblog if you ARE a woman in STEM, SUPPORT women in STEM, or ARE STILL BITTER about Rosalind Franklin not getting credit for discovering the structure of DNA and the Nobel prize going to Watson and Crick instead.
once you stop fantasizing about that ideal version of yourself and start working towards becoming that person by setting your alarm clock earlier and actually going to the gym and actually volunteering at places and actually eating healthier and not procrastinating and working just a little bit harder you’ll realize that it was so easy all along. becoming your ideal self will only ever exist in your mind until you make the decision to work towards becoming that person. get up!! get going!! it’s now or never!! there is no light at the end of the tunnel!! get that flashlight and pave your own path bitch bc no one else is going to do it for u!!

the pressure put on women to be young, attractive, and successful all at once is fucking ridiculous, you got women in their late teens and early twenties convinced that their lives are over because they don’t have a successful career and a romantic partner…a woman’s value is not in how successful she is or whether or not she has a romantic partner. there are no deadlines for life achievements, women don’t have to become successful when they’re young. women are not limited by their age, and a woman certainly is not a failure for not having either (or both) a successful career and a romantic partner when she is just starting to live her life!
One of the main reasons why you don’t make progress or why you are stuck in the vicious cycle of procrastination is the lack of courage to take that one small imperfect step. The more you are fixated on the end result, the less likely you are actually going to do something to achieve it.
A case in point of this so called ‘phenomenom’ is when you keep putting of you essay for a class you are taking. You keep convincing yourself that you have lots and lots of time to write it and suddenly your deadline is tomorrow. What do you usually do in these kinds of situations? I bet you usually open a new document and just start writing something, a quick draft, because you think you just need to get something done. In other words, you are actually just taking an imperfect step towards your end goal, which in this case is a finished essay. When you’ve taken your imperfect step, you often get this flow and just keep working and working until you are satisfied with your input. It seems surprisingly simple, right?
To summarise everything, you need to stop being so focused on the end result. The process is the most important part of your work and you can always edit and work on it later. An imperfect step is the most important step and more people need to realise this. If you have a long list of things to do or deadlines to meet, then just decide to start somewhere. Make that awful draft, scribble down something, make a mistake, just do something. Sooner or later, you are going to notice that you’ve made a great deal of progress. These imperfect steps are what you need in your life.
self love ain’t just bubble baths & face masks it’s owning up to your shit , accepting your flaws , encouraging yourself to do better.
girls in STEM fields, reblog if you agree
🍃 happy new year! let’s make it a good one :) 🍃

19 january 2018 // a collage of my past few days, am really loving this snowy weather!
[ 01.08.18 ] 03/100 - ̗̀ I Think It’s Going to Rain Today ̖́- I’m mildly obsessed with the way these roses are blooming. It’s raining in Southern California and I’m cozy inside with tea, fuzzy socks and three classes worth of digital readers. Today’s productivity was confidential, so I took some creative liberties :-)
🍂 Yesterday I…
• Did a 25 page philosophy reading • A 24 page medieval lit reading and an additional 6 page one • Wrote my response for my ENG490 class • During my little break time I opened my bujo after a long time and wrote down everything coming up to sort out my thoughts. Basically, I have a lot of major writing things due on the 23rd, so I’m clearing out all my readings and other time consuming things early so I can focus on my important projects. So far I’m making a good amount of progress, and I’ll continue on with that plan today.
i got a 40% on my chemistry exam.
I’m just sharing because we all have failures. In the studyblr community we focus on the good, but there is bad too and sometimes it is hard and there is a lot of struggle in school and it’s not all cutsie photos. There’s late nights and lots of tears and frustration and exhaustion. And I just wanted to say even if you don’t see others on here struggling, we all do sometimes and you’re not alone. School is hard and I applaud you all for your effort through all of the accomplishments AND struggles.
