Hey, so you know like you can find and track your title seed with LeanYoshi's website? You can actually manipulate the order in you get your titles by getting titles outside of the random methods (shellout machine, the catalog, mystery boxes & some qr codes), since the seed is based on the titles you currently own.
So say you're 1 billion title rolls away from a title you really want, but you're about to unlock a title on your catalog. Once you get that catalog title. The order will get shuffled and the title you want might be even closer, or way further. HOWEVER if you get another random title before it like from the shellout machine, the order will be different there as well. You can take advantage of this!
I've written a rough guide below:
Before we begin, BE WARNED : the non-random titles you get from QR codes and the catalog will alter your seed. If you have a bunch of random and catalog titles queued up in Hotlantis, you want to grab those first (unless you're planning on using the catalog title for this, but you only want to grab one title from the Hotlantis when you eventually go in there, so random titles will mess things up). Splatoon 3 updates that add titles will also usually shuffle seeds, but I don't think we're getting any of those anymore...
Assuming you have your title seed tracked on Lean's website, you can do this pretty easily. You will probably want a lot of cash before you start, and you need a method of getting a title outside of the random methods (shellout machine, the catalog, mystery boxes & some qr codes). Off the top of my head theres the catalog & qr codes for specific titles from the Splatoon twitter (can be found on inkipedia). Jackpot and Side Order titles don't seem to change anything. I'm not sure about RoTM titles, but I would assume they're the same as SO. If you want to use a catalog title, make sure there are no random titles waiting in Hotlantis with it before you grab it because it will change the results completely. You will want to delay collecting these titles until specific times too, so for this reason the QR codes are probably the easiest option. If you're using the catalog, you need to avoid Hotlantis once you have the known title sitting in there until you know when to collect it.
First, you wanna roll a random title with one of the methods (shellout, catalog, mystery box, qr code), then make a note of the titles you got. We're going to be preemptively updating and saving our seed to see what the title seed will look like after every roll followed by the known title that will later be obtained. This is to return to your current title seed later, so you just need your most recent title roll. Make sure to save this on the seed tracker too.
The rest of this is just on the seed tracker. You'll want to make a note or screenshot the titles you are adding early as you go, since you'll need to remove them later. I just screenshot the next ~15 titles at the start because with the shellout that is already an insane amount of money. If you are rich though or its a splatfest, you can do more. I also recommend using sheldon licenses since 1 starring items is pretty easy and you can get money while you're doing it.
Now, you want to add the title pair you know you're going to obtain to your current obtained titles list. If you're using a QR code and already have one of the title parts its meant to give you, the part you already have will be replaced with the next random one. E.g. theres a QR code that gives you the titles "Barnacle & Dime" "Turf Warrior", but if you already have "Turf Warrior", the subject part of the title will be replaced with the next random subject part in your title seed list. Please note that the random part is going to change every time you update and save the seed in this process.
Once added, you can click back on the title seed list and see whats changed. I normally search the title I'm after with F3 and note down its placement with the number of random rolls I need to do to get there. I've noticed that sometimes the seed barely changes, but this is normal, don't worry!
Then you want to go into your current obtained titles and remove the title pair you know you're getting, and you'll be back on your current seed, just with the titles that have been added early.
From here you just repeat the steps for as long as you think you can afford.
Update and save upcoming title pair
Add the known title pair you're expecting to your current obtained titles
Check the placement of the titles you're after
Remove the known title pair you're expecting from your current obtained titles
You can probably double up on known title pairs if you have that option, like if you have an upcoming catalog title and also a QR code, but it's a lot of branching paths to keep track of. This would probably best be done algorithmically by a computer, but a program has not been made yet.
When you're done, to fix your seed you'll want to remove all the titles you preemptively added before and reset your title seed. Use the title you randomly rolled before to get your original seed again in the right place. If you forgot to note it down, you can roll randomly again for a new title. I just said to do it at the beginning just in case obtaining the known title pair Immediately would be better than after future rolls.
Now you can use the information as a guide. If it says that if you got the known title now, you would be 400 titles away, but if you got it after your next roll it would be 20 away, then roll a random title and obtain the known title. If it says after 6 rolls you have better chances, you wanna roll 6 random titles then obtain your known title.
Once again, BE WARNED : the non-random titles you get can alter your seed. This method is more for short term goals where you can put off obtaining new known titles until you get the one you want OR if you have unlocked almost every title already and are running out of options to get the title you really want.
And the wet floor inklings because i just drew them today!
i barely draw anymore so this is just me redrawing the poses on the band cover. i originally was just drawing mizole but then there was space for more. kagi is wearing a jacket around his arms because thats how i interpreted the band art but i Realise that might be a bag on his back… i did not draw tsumabushi because i ran out of page space. my apologies…
splatoon merch is too expensive and exclusive i need to learn how to embroider and make sickest jackets known to man without having to cough up 200 big ones
i was playing overclown earlier and there were like 2 jesters guarding the jokepoint and we had three fucking booboos on our team that wouldnt switch to something useful like a bozo or a bongo and right as we were capturing the first point this goddamn kookoo used his clown car ultimate and won them the match. terrible game
In the booklet inserted in the Splatune 2 album, there’s an interview with the band Wet Floor, which has yet to be translated to English…well, until now.
