I heard good things about this game, so I decided to give it a try.

First impression: Nice art, and the animations make it look very lively. Voice acting! Wait, uh oh, there's a lot going on, lots of characters. Interface and gameplay are kinda clunky / clumsy compared to MLQC. MC still goes to school (looks more adult than MLQC MC though lol)? Idk let's continue

Second impression: Oh no it's addictive, need to complete those missions

Third impression: 1) Uh, excuse me, what even is that story? If I can't punch that army dude right in his ugly face then what's the point? 2) I like Nobunaga the friendly neighborhood oni and his barely functional disaster blue oni tengu friend (who's unfortunately my spirit animal rip). About half of the others are also on my good side. And all of them are very adorable when in chibi mode. 3) While I'm not yet sure whether I really enjoy this game or not, I can't quit while there are things to do ... Guess I'll have to play until I get stuck or sth lol.

HI SORRY TO BE ANNOYING BUT I *ADORED* THIS DEMO.  Anyone who enjoys otomes, specifically ones with fantasy/magic and/or mystery should give it a try.  The art is beautiful and the writing is excellent imho, and the programmer did some really cool animation effects in the game.   IT’S JUST GREAT OKAY PLEASE SOMEONE PLAY IT AND COME BE MY FRIEND SO WE CAN TALK ABOUT IT

Ok so since I finally, after a long time spent leveling and collecting and upgrading cards, managed to catch up with the plot, first of all... Oof, what the fuck. New chapters when?

And secondly, here are my updated opinions on the characters. (potential spoilers)

Victor: Nothing changed, still my least favorite. If anything it even got worse: For one, being patronized, infantalized, and insulted as if those are acceptable forms of "bonding" are still huge turn offs for me (and he doesn't seem to even want to get better) ... and then when he was supposed to finally show a more likable side, he decided to seriously freak me out with that hospital part, attempted to take control over our whole damn life in the name of protection, and proceeded to withhold important information because he thinks we can't handle it and "just trust me". Luckily, this is still a sort of common route, so he was forced to at least see some reason and back off eventually. Whew.

Lucien: Well unlike MC I always knew that this guy can't be trusted, so I'm not even upset or anything. Really pretty much everything about him is and has always been unsettling, from his empty smiles to the foreboding things he says to just how fking dangerous he seems to be. I still don't exactly like him or his behavior (neither of his behaviors), and irl I would stay as far away as possible. But, I do think this whole messed up angsty betrayal / fall-for-the-enemy / possible redemption plot is interesting. So maybe I actually like him better now after the villain reveal because his story got more intriguing? Whoops.

Gavin: Can come save me from the first two anytime (please). I like him because he's not just "secretly caring" underneath his tough exterior, instead he's actually very earnest and genuine, in his own kinda awkward way, and has been the most honest one out of the bunch. His adorable, happy reactions to MC warming up to him also get me every time, he's basically like a big and intimidating but really ... well, not harmless at all, but nonetheless sweet puppy. So seriously, he better be okay after all that shit from chapter 12 and before, and now swooping in last moment, because if someone deserves a break it's this guy.

Kiro: Well, he's been cute, fun and very supportive, if not exactly forthcoming with information, and he can be a little shit sometimes ... hard to be mad at him though. I guess he's always been way too bright and carefree to not have some more intense plot coming up, but I am impressed by how gracefully he handled everything so far - those last parts really showed he's also dedicated to helping and protecting the MC, even if he has his own issues going on. I do not like that last imagery of him facing mystery dude / grim reaper ... Hopefully he knows what he's doing and that Geass power of his can do more than just sending MC away. Kiro come back. ;;

So in conclusion, my first impressions haven't really changed that much? Victor is still a condescending prick but now with a side of overdramatic control freak, Lucien has now been confirmed as Evil All Along (which is at least more intriguing than the usual otome yandere), and Gavin and Kiro are still my favorites, at first automatically by lack of competition but by now they really grew on me. They're both sweethearts and have been trying their best so honestly at this point I just want to give each of them a big hug (and tell them to please not leave me alone with the scary ones again because I need some moral/emotional support too).
