Piper deserved a character arc where she realized being girly isn’t inherently bad. Like, I know a lot of people who went through a ‘not like other girls’ era and came out the other end learning how to balance girly and being themselves.
I also just fully hate how Rick choose to depict the entire Aphrodite cabin.
I feel like if frank and piper weren't Rick Riordan original characters and were in some other franchise then I believe that people would've been headcanoning piper to be a child of Hermes and frank to be a child of apollo

I love the actors that are playing the character in the PJO tv show, but I wish the show had been animated. Not just for book accuracy, but I feel it’d be cooler with their powers and you could do so much with animation.

With Leah playing Annabeth and the Kane siblings being mixed race in the books, this is now even more accurate.

I keep telling myself I'm not gonna comment any further on the show, but for fuck's sake, Hollywood, let characters be ugly! What's the deal with casting the most photogenic, conventionally attractive people in roles that are supposed to be, or describe as such in the source material if it's an adaptation, "ugly" by conventional standards?
Sure, let's give another generation body issues by casting a sexy DILF as a canonically "ugly" character! Gotta sell those plastic surgeries and beauty products somehow, eh?!
This was not my point. Ugly is such a relative term. Every person has a different definition for it, just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so is ugliness.
Someone in the comments did an amazing job in explaining that in this case ugly is being considered having a disability: Hephaestus being depicted as walking with a cane. As someone who has a knee that sometimes revolts against me with extreme pain, I appreciate this depiction.
The PJO show has so far done a pretty decent job at subtlety depicting disability.
Also characters don’t have to be stereotypically attractive for a lot of people, especially woman, to simp over. There were simps for the book version, I can assure you.
