After a night spent just enjoying each others’ company and not acknowledging their feelings, Adolin is hesitant to leave. So he leaves behind something that will give him an excuse to return. His jacket. But Adolin wants Kaladin to acknowledge it, and Kaladin wants Adolin to acknowledge it, so the jacket never gets returned. Adolin is confused, while Kaladin, who is also confused, has a more practical use of the jacket in the meantime.
