I think about this image at least once a day.
Question: do you think that Kramer's contradictory and hypocritical philosophy is a result of bad writing, or of Kramer being written well as a realistically contradictory and hypocritical human being?
i mean i think that john kramer is a character desperate for control. so many things happen to him that are out of his controlâ jill losing the baby, jill leaving him, his cancer, even his insurance claim being denied. and when he has his moment of clarity, itâs when heâs attempting to kill himselfâ a negative event, but one that he has full power over. and what he takes away from that is âfeeling in control of your decisions is what enables you to enjoy living,â BUT he interprets that as âpeople need to make a choice like i did to enjoy living.â all of his traps force people to make a choice, yes, but heâs still ultimately the one pulling the strings. so of course all of his traps are hyper-engineered and carefully masterminded. i donât know how much of this is intended, but i like to imagine that john kramer is willfully blind to his own hypocrisy. he has many many victims that are severely traumatized by what he is doing, but to acknowledge that heâs not actually helping people is to acknowledge that he really has no control over anyone but himself, and i think that scares him most of all.

Graphic design is my passion. I think Iâve made the best vaporwave infographic of the first Punic war ever
and i know people mean well when they give employment advice but god damn some of them its like "did you try submitting your resume to a place that is hiring" fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck no kidding. shit. ive just been printing them out and eating them. yeah thanks i'll try that
Hardest part of writing is accepting that some people will not fucking get it & you just have to like cope with that because over-explaining it just makes it worse
I will not over-explain my art to the stupidest people on earth. I'm writing for people who know what I'm talking about. Mantra that will save you. David Lynch was right

how fucking arrogant can you be to think any eugenics program could ever weed out âfascist geneticsâ. even if the âdark triadâ was a reliable precursor to fascist ideology and even if âdark triad traitsâ could be reliably linked to genotype (they arenât and they canât be), how fucking far to jupiter are you if you think you can remove it from a population of seven billion, let alone in some âanarchistâ manner? how do you programmatically sterilize anyone in an âanarchistâ manner?
Do you ever see some discourse float by and think âMaybe Iâm not hanging out on the worst parts of Tumblr, actuallyâ
jesus fucking christ
me: oh man, Joann Fabrics is closing. That's going to really suck for a lot of people
Sophia, the Victorian ghost who haunts a lamp I bought at Brimfield: not the least among them Joanne. though I suppose her business acumen must have been wanting if she gave the shop her Christian name- it just seems undignified. was that what drove her customers to other establishments?
me: well, nothing- it's a chain, and in most places, there weren't any other fabric stores.
Sophia:
Sophia: there weren't. any other dry goods stores. selling fabric.
me: not usually, no.
Sophia: in a whole town
me: no.
Sophia: and now there will be nowhere to purchase fabric at all in those towns
me: not in person. I guess people can buy it online
Sophia: what if they don't know what different weaves feel like? how will they learn if they never get to handle them?
me: some places have free swatch service on their websites-
Sophia: so they'll wait a week or more for a swatch, decide if they like it, then send away for the full amount of goods they need and wait even longer for that? what if they want something finished sooner?
me: they'll just be frustrated, I guess
Sophia: wait, why did Joanne's shops close? if she had such a monopoly, surely she'd have made quite a profit regardless of the name
me: an even bigger company bought them and couldn't use them to make billions of dollars, so they're forcing them to close
Sophia:
me: wait- PUT MY SNOW SHOVEL DOWN AND STEP AWAY FROM YOUR LAMP
I made this about a different business that was the victim of private equity and I hate that news stories keep coming up where I can use it.
