And I DID see one! I forgot all about this post, but I saw a Japanese pygmy woodpecker last month birdwatching in Karuizawa! I was having camera issues so only had time to grab a pretty meh phone photo before it flew off, but it was indeed adorable, and having any photo at all brings me great joy.

Going to need to reblog more birds next time I go somewhere and wait for Tumblr blessings to find me.
