I wish I could put my boyfriend in a little pocket dimension in my bag or something, like pokemon in their lil pokemon balls, so I could take him into social situations with me and hang out with my friends having a great time while he's in the pocket minding his own business and playing video games and stuff, and I can just let him out when I miss him and/or he wants to.

Pod-together is a fandom fest where writers and podficcers create together—the writer creating text specifically intended for audio, and the podficcer creating the audio. Writing is due July 26th, and podfic is due August 23rd. The minimum length for pod-together projects is 1000 words or 10 minutes of audio.

This is our 16th year running this challenge, and participants usually have a ton of fun and create amazing stuff, with everything from the typical style of fannish stories to submissions with filk, poetry, found footage/audio drama, sound effects, massive multi-voice collaborations, full-cast musicals, immersive soundscapes, playable games, and multiple languages.

Caloplaca eugyra

When people describe xeric ecosystems and deserts are baren and colorless, I am just like . . . what? Have you seen the guys who live there? Does C. eugyra look baren and colorless to you? This crustose lichen has a yellow-orange, pruinose (covered in a pale, chalky mineral layer), areolate (tile-like) to nearly placcodioid (tile-like in the center with marginal elongated lobes) thallus. The marginal lobes are tightly appressed (attached to the substrate) and crowded, distinguishing characteristics that help to separate it from C. galactophylla. C. eugyra produces flat, rounded apothecia which have a thalline margin and red-orange disks. It grows on calcareous rock in dry, continental North America.

It’s been 3 years with these shining boys, and even though I joined this fandom merely a year ago, I feel so blessed to have had them enter my life. I’m so proud of them to have come so far - so many wins, their Japan debut, their own reality show; they’ve gotten so far - and I hope for them to get even further in life!! Seventeen has done so much for us; they’re our family, and even though I may not be physically near them, or able to speak Korean, I want them to know I’m proud of them and that I love them with all my heart. Their smiles light up my dark days, and their songs put a smile on my face. Carats love you, Seventeen, and we know you love us too! ♥
