This visual essay is based on the artistic archetype of "monstrous feminine". This concept was introduced by Barbara Creed in her book of the same name "Monstrous Feminine". This video essay is divided into 4 types of monsters. Three of them are based on Barbara Creed’s work: Possessed Body, Vampire/Cannibal, Archaic Mother. The fourth type - a Bloody Wound - I came up with myself. I refer to this type of heroines who have experienced severe trauma and they return their power through revenge. Covered with the blood of their abusers, they turn into a living embodiment of a bloody bleeding wound.
