Wear a mask for safety and hygyine, try to socially distance, stay as a group, communicate with the crowd, know your legal rights for your area, wear unidentifiable clothes with no logos/designs, and dont go it alone.

a friend shared these with me — people are still piecing the info together, but seems like this is a true phenomenon

End of the Night by David Panevin Via Flickr: 懐かしい Since 2006, Torikou’s has been a place of nostalgia. A place to revisit old memories whilst creating new ones. Kyowa-cho, Obu-shi, Aichi-ken, Japan.
Know your rights.
While people are inclined to whip out their phones and film when they see something alarming happening, those videos are not always recorded in a way that can be used as evidence in a legal proceeding or to support advocacy tactics.
At the human rights organization WITNESS, where I work as the senior U.S. program coordinator, we’ve learned that video has a greater chance of making an impact when it’s filmed ethically and strategically, and released in coordination with advocacy and legal efforts. Using the camera in your pocket can be a valuable way to ensure the world bears witness to abusive policing and systemic racism, help hold authorities accountable, and advocate for the real safety of our communities.
Teen Vogue still hitting it out of the park, I see.
HOLY SHIT. This was extremely informative. Please everyone READ THIS!!!

Comrades in Minneapolis—this video from Chile shows how to extinguish tear gas canisters quickly, safely, and easily. To deal with tear gas canisters, take a water jug with a wide mouth, pick up the canister with protective gloves (it’s hot and can burn you!), drop it in the jug, and shake the jug while covering the top with your gloved hand just enough that the gas doesn’t get out. Don’t cover the top too tightly—you don’t want to make the jug explode. Don’t let the police or #COVID19 cut off your air supply. Fight back! #icantbreathe #GeorgeFloyd #Minneapolis
The other thing that works that we saw in Hong Kong is putting a traffic cone over it and pouring water into the hole in the top
Interrupting my unnecessary shit posting for something that is actually important
George Floyd, Rekia Boyd, Aiyana Stanley-Jones, Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, Jordan Edwards.....These are just a few of the beautiful angels, whose lives were stolen from them and their families, MURDERED by police. It shatters my heart to know that there are so many other beautiful cherubs who have been killed, all of them innocent. When the people who were supposed to protect the innocent are killing them (especially CHILDREN), we know hatred and hostility is poisoning whatever humanity is left in this horrible, twisted society.
Do not look away. Do not close your eyes or stick your head in the sand. Remember them and tell their stories. NOT ALL LIVES MATTER UNTIL BLACK LIVES MATTER

reblogging and adding this: bail fund for those protesting/getting arrested in minneapolis.
maybe aestheticizing political movements is in. bad taste.
like i don't know how to explain how weird this is but i Hate it
actually, i do know how to explain it! if you have to turn a political movement that protests against systemic violence and racism into an aesthetic for it to become worthy of your attention, you do not actually care about said movement. people are dying, cops are getting away with murder, the government has so much blood on its hands--protests are not pretty, revolution is not pretty, fighting for your rights and those of others is not pretty. stop trying to change that just because it feels "too harsh" for your aesthetic.
