Call me Cardinal! Not the bird; like cardinal directions (north/south/east/west)

I don't really like to use concrete labels for my nonhuman identities, but here they are, in no particular order:

Yes, the atravanta and woodluma are from a roblox game. Look around, and you'll find plenty others who have kins or identities that are "childish" or "cringe". If you have something rude to say, I don't want to hear it.

Some of the ways I word things or refer to myself/my kins are similar to how systems might, but I myself do not belong to one. I am in support of them, but do not involve me in syscourse. With my kins, all of them are an intrinsic part of my identity unless stated otherwise, but may be referred to in a way that sounds seperate for the sake of helping myself articulate my thoughts.

Was finally able to bring my partner home!

(It feels weird to say I bought or adopted him :/ I WAS SO DANG SHY WHEN I GOT UP TO THE COUNTER. GROWN AHH ADULT WITH NOTHING BUT A PLAGUE DOCTOR. At least my sibling was also getting a plush so I wasn't alone in it lol)

Been a few days now and it's been wonderful to cuddle with him at night :)

He has a name, but I suppose it must remain a mystery for now, so he's just Doc/Doctor. After all, he is the Mysterious Doctor Plague!

the joy of being safe from the rain

this is going on the alterhuman blog because I think it’s an alterhuman thing. But I feel like if we are romanticizing rain it’s either being in a blanket inside or not worrying about staying dry and just like dancing in the rain.

but i love the feeling of being *safe* from the rain. Which means, by proximity, you’ve got to be in danger of it. So no huddled in a blanket with a cup of tea (even though that is nice)

Like once I was caught in the rain during a hike, so I ducked under a big boulder. It wasn’t the best spot, so I was fully curled up the whole time, but I stayed dry. And it was a really nice feeling.

This feeling also comes from sitting on a screened in porch while it rains, or even under a really thick tree.

it just feels so creature to me, and sometimes feels better and safer that staying inside in like a weird backwards way. It’s like a dog hiding under a porch or a fox ducking into a hole. It’s knowing that I’ll survive.

Not important, but there's a game on steam called The Red Lantern that's currently on sale for 100% off (aka free), and I thought some of the community might enjoy it! I got it the other day and have REALLY enjoyed it so far :)

It's a game about being a sled dog musher in her first trek through the Alaskan wilderness, on her way to her new home to prepare for the sled dog races. On the way, you have to explore and hunt to survive until the end, filling out a journal of your experiences as you go. Each dog has a personal story you follow, and you get to see them grow over your different runs as you bond.

There is always the chance of danger during your runs, but there's a setting in the options menu that you can turn on to make sure your dogs never die :)

Not related to the devs (Timberline Studio) in any way lol, just thought you guys might like this game, whether you're a canine of some form or not!

Oh! Just remembered! If you're looking for it on steam and it doesn't show up, that may be because it's rated as having mature content and you have that setting turned off. Here's the reason why, pulled straight from the page: "There will be some stylized depictions of violence against animals and the player character. These acts could include animals being shot, attacked by other animals, and the player being attacked by animals." Gore & blood is never shown, but you have to hunt to survive. There's methods where you can get food without having to see them killed, but you must explore to unlock those first.

If you run into that issue, I think the fix is to go ahead and search the name up, and then click to view the hidden things

Hi! Two individual deathgrippers, the stormcutter species as a whole, and a few stormcutter individuals over here!

(I actually also once kinsidered a bewilderbeast before, but didn't think it fit right for me ^^)

Decided I maybe don't like the name Coral anymore for my one deathgripper kin, so might change it. Kinda half n' half right now

Also finally settled on what I think I look like

Basic Rise of Berk deathgripper but with yellow lines on the edges of the interior parts of the stinger sheath. Not visible when closed. By lines on the edges, I mean something similar to how the back spines are lined with red.

Name ideas welcome!

Decided I also like the name Surge, as in like the sharp, fast forward movement. Water surging down a stream during a flood. A power surge after... Idk, what causes a power surge lol? Anyways

Actually, the main reason I picked it out as a possible alternate name is that it's the word I use to describe one of my favorite things in music. IDK if it has an actual name, but it's like a sudden surge of notes or something. It's very fun :)

Look up "Power Trip" by Boom Kitty, and that first little bit is what I'm talking about

I think a lot of nonhumans/otherkins forget that;

It’s okay if you don’t particularly like / or hate something you kin. You’re allowed complex emotions around what you kin. Being nonhuman/otherkin isn’t usually a voluntary experience. It can be from trauma or just simply being a part of yourself natural. Being complex makes us alive. It makes us real.

It’s okay if you aren’t always happy to be otherkin/nonhuman. It’s okay to be sad, our sadness and rage is as important as our joy.

It’s okay if you don’t want to live in a forest or where your kintype lives. It’s fine if you like / want to live in cities! Or on the beach or in the mountains. It’s okay if you like modern things like phones or cars that your kin might not know about / like.

It’s okay if you don’t have memories of your past lives or if your past lives weren’t impressive or if your past lives were traumatic OR if you simply don’t believe in past lives at all.

It’s okay if you don’t have any dysphoria or if you have crushing dysphoria around your nonhumanity/kin.

It’s okay if you aren’t all ‘aesthetic’ ‘pretty’ and ‘perfect’ around your kintype/nonhumanity. You can be exactly how you are.

It’s okay if you don’t know your kintype/nonhumanity, your kintype is complex and hard to understand, and it’s okay if your MULTIPLE kintypes or nonhuman types. You don’t owe anyone anything.
