Going out of town hadn’t been much of a huge plan, really. She had simply gotten to thinking that with all the chaos back home - a weekend away might have been nice for her and a few of her friends. She had wrangled Elena and Bonnie into joining her for a weekend-long shopping trip away from Mystic Falls (of which she was very proud of - thank you very much. It took more convincing than it should have,)
While she had been on the job she’d also thought of something for the guys - but she figured shopping for clothes probably wasn’t their thing, and so they were off elsewhere enjoying themselves. The plan had been to stick together while they were shopping - but Caroline ended up split off from Bonnie and Elena anyway.
She didn’t mind much, Caroline figured she was probably the one enjoying the trip the most thus far anyway and Bonnie and Elena had probably gone back to the hotel or something by now. Care however had a few hours left of shopping to do - plans that took place in the town square.
Her plans however came to a quick halt when she bumped into someone in the town square, dropping a bag in the process. “Sorry, my fault."
Sam hadn’t planned on going out. He hadn’t planned on going to the mall either. It was such a weird place to be when he hadn’t gone to a mall in forty forever’s. It was strange and foreign, but it was a good place to be, instead of the usual pain, emotional torture, or just self-loathing he was accustomed to. Whether Dean was dragging him around for Fallen Angels, or he was out by himself, he was always cautious. Someone like him didn’t have very many friends, and being out in the open was usually a bad choice— But he needed air that was stale. He needed social interaction with strangers, even if they were demons in disguise. This was nice, in an odd sense.
Dean was out for the day, checking in with Garth and Kevin, making sure everything was okay on the home front. This gave Sam time to go out and be himself for a change, instead of being smothered and forced to take medication he was sure wasn’t helping him at all. This was his chance to just… be Sam. Not a Winchester, not the Boy with the Demon Blood—- Just Sam. And that was okay by him. Granted, getting a vehicle hadn’t been the easiest part, but he’d managed it just fine, without getting caught too.
Being alone at the mall was sort of a strange feeling. He was expecting to feel Dean’s hand grab at his coat, asking him if he was alright, or to hear the flap of Castiel’s wings— Oh, wait… He shook off the thought, not wanting to think about the night the angels fell, but it was hard not to. He couldn’t cure Crowley that night. He couldn’t save Castiel or the other angels. Not in time, anyway. But regardless, it was better to know that everyone’s alive and we—
He was knocked into by a pretty little blonde, making his thoughts halt as he looked down at her. He picked up the bag for her, smiling to her a bit. “It’s alright. I should’ve watched where I was walking." He offered the bag of clothing to her, eyebrows quirking a tad. “Need a new wardrobe?"
"Guess we were both a little distracted," she shrugged, taking the bag from him with a smile. "Thanks." Care said politely before chuckling, shifting the handles of the bag up higher around her wrists. In retrospect it may have been a good idea to invest in a cart of sorts - she only had so many hands and her shopping trip wasn't nearly done yet.
"Not really, I mean - kinda. Was supposed to be a little get away with some friends. Apparently they're not too into the shopping thing. Left me for the motel a few hours ago." Caroline explained, allowing the bag handles around her wrists to slip into her hand where she set them down on the floor for a moment.
She rubbed her wrists - red imprints from the handles pressing into them. "We don't really have a lot of good stores where I live - even the good ones get boring after eighteen years of going to them, you know?" She continued, crinkling her nose with another shrug and lifting the bags again. "Gotta stock up while I can," Care said, lifting the bags a bit higher and shaking them as to help get her point across.

It was early, a nice day as well as a Saturday and Caroline Forbes couldn't think of a reason in the world why anyone would be bugging her at this point. A glance out of her bedroom window told her that it was, in fact, very early. The sun wasn't out yet - and it didn't seem like it'd be making an appearance anytime soon.
Despite how much she would have liked to ignore the (very obnoxious) knocking at her door Care's better judgement told her that more than half of the people she knew could have easily gotten into her room without the knocking - now that she thought about it a few more human friends may have been something she should look into - and she also had a brief thought of why her mother hadn't answered the door yet and after another few knocks she assumed her mom had gone into the station early.
Care was downstairs in a flash, clad in pajamas (there was no way she was changing for someone who probably shouldn't even have been at her house before the sun had come up - possibly even after it had) and bare feet, and when she opened the door she sighed because for such an early time and in her, admittedy somewhat grumpy state, said person so could have waited until later to come knocking.
"Don't you have puppies to kill or something, or is that not until later?"

In Caroline’s defense - it had been a while since she had been properly drunk. She wasn’t even entirely sure Vampire’s could get drunk like humans could - but according to her (completely scientific) experiment tonight with alcohol, she came to the conclusion that maybe vampires couldn’t get drunk like humans could - but they sure as hell could get pretty close.
Close enough that her vision was somewhat blurred at this point - and whenever she spoke she knew it wouldn’t be hard for anyone to tell she’d had a lot of alcohol. In Mystic Falls, though, she liked to think she was pretty well known and no one was going to go dragging her through an alley - even if she was, possibly, entirely too drunk for her own good.
She was sitting at the mystic grill in a booth, her head in her hands and her fingers running through her hair. It may have seemed like she was upset from how she was holding herself (which she wasn’t) - but actually, she was just really, really drunk.
Caroline groaned to herself, and when someone passed by her she reached out to grab their arm, not 100% sure said person even worked here. “‘scuse me, can you get me some curly fries?"

For such a seemingly unknown little city like Mystic Falls - Caroline found that there were plenty new people around town lately. She thought it was funny that outsiders might actually think the place was quiet, peaceful, calm in any way shape or form. She guessed, though that from a completely different perspective it could seem like a pretty quiet place.
Whether people were being mislead or not - anyone new around was generally worth checking out. Especially considering that half of the people that had shown up around Mystic Falls were out to hunt down her, and anyone like her (by extension, half the town or so)
As to make new people even more convenient to investigate - it wasn't hard to note who was new and who wasn't around here. In a fairly small town it was easy to spot new faces - and even easier for Caroline to approach them when the best place to grab a bite around was Mystic Grill. She invited herself to sit at the bar in the seat beside mystic falls' most recent visitor before speaking up. "You're new around here, aren't ya?"

It was easy to be distracted with everything constantly going on in Caroline's life. Easy to get a little caught up in your thoughts and Care was well aware that being too distracted was bound to have bad after effects - depending entirely on how distracted she actually was as well as what she was doing at the time.
At this point, though, it was a fairly calm point in Miss Forbes' life. She was fairly sure there was nothing for her to do today and that was why she had been out and about. As far as she knew Elena and Bonnie were both preoccupied and she didn't have anything specific to do. She figured, though, that some shopping wouldn't hurt anyone.
She'd known that there'd been a lot on her mind, but not enough that she wasn't a bit taken back when she ran into someone on the sidewalk - the stores weren't far enough that she needed to drive - and she pushed the strap of her bag up higher onto her shoulder before looking up at whomever she'd run into.
"Sorry about that. My fault." She said while offering a grin and a slight head tilt. Mystic Falls was a pretty small place, and she wasn't sure she'd ever seen this particular person around.
