im an artist and a writer who spends too much time on this website

my main fandom rn is voltron but i also dabble in avatar(blue people version) starwars, project hail Mary and sometimes zelda but this blog is just my dumping ground for all of my nonsense

Cuz hes technically a hybrid species and like, by definition if two different species can reproduce together, the offspring is infertile, bcs if it wasn’t, they’d be the same species, so…

He kinda has to he no?

or he could have a case of hybrid breakdown where he can have kids but his kids can’t (like ligers)

but the definition of a species is that they can produce offspring equipped to that environment so even if they are able to reproduce, they’re different species because the mixing of genes makes them unviable to either environment

from what little we have seen of the galra homeworld it looks pretty diffrent from anywhere on earth(less vegetation and alot darker if im remembering correctly) so if he’s equipped for a human environment then he doesn’t have the preferred traits for the galra environment

i also personally headcannon keith to have galra traits that weren’t noticeable or didn’t come in until later just because i think its more interesting if he has a sort of “uncanny valley” affect to him

(and being infertile or having infertile kids does make him unequipped for any environment because of natural selection)

the theory that all humanoid species have the same ancestor species is definitely one i can get behind and also explains how they’re able to reproduce

i also read a fic once where the galra didn’t have different sexes (im forgetting the word for it now) and could fertilize or be pregnant which i though was a really interesting way to tackle the problem of almost all of the galra we see in the show being male
